Norwegian Core Contract, Norway

Good evening to everyone,

According to the current CLA do you know more or less what is the net income for an FO based in Norway with the Norwegian core contract?

Do you have an idea on how is the CLA? Is it a good one? Roster? Per diems? Flying hours payment?

Thanks a lot in advance

anderse 2nd Nov 2017 08:10

You start approximately 578 000 NOK + per diem (100 000 NOK-ish) a year for F/O with experience on 737.

But they reached an agreement yesterday, so maybe 5% increase next year? The next weeks will show

Thanks a lot for the info. The figures you quoted is net or gross?

If it is net seems very very good, but if it is gross i suppose that taxation in Norway is pretty high and I should consider around 40 per cent less, am I correct?

The figures is gross.
And the salary is fixed. No additional pay pr hour etc. But if you sell a day off, you will be compensated with appr. 12 000 NOK as F/O. Almost double for captains.

So you will pay approximately 160 000 NOK in tax for that salary. Most of the per diem is taxfree.

So, 578 000+100 000-160 000
= 518 000 NOK after all taxes.

A descent private apartment in Oslo will cost you about 12-14 000 NOK a month, so the cost of living is high.

You will start at level 5, with TR, and it will probably increase a lot the next three years. We will see when the final agreement are published the next weeks.

Thanks. Any idea about the rostering? It is not a fixed roster pattern?

Icejock 14th Nov 2017 06:52

It is a 5-4 roster and the current salary levels are under negotiations between the union and the company with some substantial increases to some of the steps.

el caballero rojo 15th Nov 2017 21:02

Thanks. A 5/4 roster for all the bases or just the Norwegian ones?

Direct Bondi 16th Nov 2017 06:38

A 5/4 roster is only for Uncle Bjorn's more assertive and united Norwegian family members in Scandinavia - apparently, achieving the desired benefits from their union membership and dues payments.

trancada 16th Nov 2017 10:58

And for NTR F/O what can we expect?

NWCoast 23rd Nov 2017 15:38

NTR

Bonding at level 1, 2 or 3.
For 3 years.

Scale above, a bit higher on the new scale.

Regarding the current advert for FOs based in OSL, TRD, SVG and BGO.

Can anyone shed some light about the employment, especially when they mention the company "Pilot Services Norway"

Does it mean that you indeed will not be part of Norwegian "Core"?

If TRD, SVG, BGO bases are chosen/given, will it involve multiple sector day (intra norway)?

Does OSL base see more of the Intra Scandinavia / Europe flights (long flights)

I prefer short hops with multiple sectors over longer routes.

Thanks in advance!

directmisbi 23rd Nov 2017 19:54

-No, you will be "core".

-yes, up to six sectors pr day, no nightstops when based on the west coast bases.

- A big mixed bag of everything, from Las Palmas nightstops to northern Norway ops. Take a look at the Bardufoss, Tromso, Kirkenes plates. Interesting :O during winter, and good experience IMHO.
If you are planning to commute, Oslo base is the place to be, lots of slings away from base. You can bid "layover" which will see you being away on night stops around 80-90 percent of your working time. A bit less during the summer when the charter flights kick in. But then you are able to bid for the night flights in which the company provide hotel after duty.

-Time to command in Scandinavia running around 6-7 years in the company at the moment.

-Great working environment, good and professional colleagues both flight deck and CC.

Thanks for A very informative answer!

Do you know how many FOs they need across the various bases?

And what's the reason for the lack of FOs?
People moved from right to left, or expansion in the bases?

Again, thank you

CPH

Hi all,

I understand this is a very specific question, but would appreciate any info, even if only a guesstimate.

What is the fastest way, and how many years will it take to get a CPH base? Either as FO or Captain?

Currently I’m looking at options such as joining a Europe base as a Direct Entry Captain or FO in one of the Norwegian bases.

Thanks in advance!

Direct Bondi 25th Nov 2017 09:21

-No, you will be "core".
“core” is no more. The term previously referred to pilots employed directly by the parent company Norwegian Air Shuttle. I provide a link to a current recruitment ad from Norwegian’s website which includes an email address to enquire directly:

“Successful applicants will be employed by Pilot Services Norway AS (PSN)” - link:

https://www.webcruiter.no/WcMain/Adv...nk_source_id=0

Norwegian’s Scandinavia “pilot services” scheme evolved during the 2015 strike (a strike where Norwegian’s pilots outside of Scandinavia kept flying) - link:

http://sverigesradio.se/sida/artikel...rtikel=6109609

“He [Kjos] says that the pilots' wish to be employees of the parent company, Norwegian Air Shuttle, is not an option."

“The planned new companies (Pilot Services Norway, Pilot Services Denmark, and Pilot Services Sweden) will also reduce the risk of bankruptcy” - and industrial action.

The 5/4 roster and recently improved package was negotiated collectively by the Scandinavian Pilot Services groups who, apparently, are more united and more determined to improve their conditions than their non-Scandinavia counterparts.

Can someone shed a light about the assessment process?

I understand they use "advanced compass", is that the web based test you do at home?

What else can one expect (as non type rated)

Again, many thanks!

PSN is to be renamed Norwegian Pilot Services Norway, for closer affiliation. In the meantime, as I am sure you know; Several employees spearheaded a lawsuit and won, the case is up for appeal (from both sides) on the 28th at a higher judicial level, where our union is going for a full spectrum win based on the earlier case.

As for the “Non-scandinavian” group, say what you will about the UK, as they struggle to find any support in BALPA.
But discrediting the guys and gals based in Spain is a bridge too far.

With just the odd few selling days off, they have been incredibly steadfast on a much less even battlefield. They are however determined to keep up the good fight, and are doing so with full force.

In other words, your last comment is a bit of a unjustified one, good Sir.
