LGW Easyjet DEC contract and rosters
 

Hello folks,

Before making the move I would like to know the updated salary for year 1 DEC rated at Easyjet based in LGW as well as the sector pay. Any contractual payraises every 5 years like some other bases? I checked the figures on PPJN but I wonder if they are updated as 2017.

Also I am planning to commute to PRG. Are the rosters commuter friendly with a decent amount of outstations layovers or should I plan on a lot of hotel nights in LGW?

Basic is around £100K a year and sector pay is just over £31 per nominel sector. You work 5/3-5/4 earlies then lates. Quite a few nightstops available from LGW and loads of people are more than willing to swap off these.

No annual pay rise apart from a new pay rise via the pilot union. Instead you get an annual bonus of 5,10,15% of your basic salary once a year. Depends on length of service with the company which one you get. Pension is based on basic.

I have always wondered about the Easy bonus, is it completely unconditional? So it's guaranteed year in year out with no link to performance/financial targets. If so why don't they just add it to the basic?

So it isn't pensionable?

Yes the bonus is unconditional of any performance/financial targets. It is a loyalty bonus linked with your length of employment.
For a 10 year captain and above the 15% equates to nearly 15K on top of your monthly salary which you will get at the end of your original start of employment month. Yes the bonus is subject to tax and own pension contribution.

2 year 5%
5 year 10%
10 year 15%

So besides basic and sector theres no other extra? I.e. duty, per diem, hour, landing, etc?
So after tax and contributions how much will a capt will have on his pocket every month (year 1)?

Depends on how much you put in your pension and share schemes but it's a ballpark figure of around 5k.

In year one your total gross pay would be about £110000

Any idea when the last time Non-TR Captain slots based in Gatwick were offered? Future prospects? Other UK bases?

Aren't the BA DEP's on about 4-4.5k net for a two stripe FO position?

I want your base VJW. £5000 net basic on your month off puts you on about £135000pa gross. You're either rounding up your figures or you're a bit more than just a line captain

Ryanair pilot you are talking nonsense. UK tax £135000 would be £6800 net per month.

£5k net on a month off is about right. My basic is £3800 net after pension and flight pay made up of just leave payments is £1080 .

I never said I made £5k net basic. I said I made £5k net on my month off- which as described above is £3900 for my basic plus £1100 'holiday' pay...

Yes apologies I forgot the leave sector pay. Still with normal sector pay only a few hundred more net it's hardly worth crowing about.

SH BA captain LHR, junior and put 1100 a month into a pension. I take home 5-5.5k a month depending on workload. Gives an idea but I don't think there is much in it between BA and easy really.

bex - doesn't your pay go up each year though? That £1100 into the pension- I presume that includes the 13% BA contributes?

For me, it was all about roster stability, the money was secondary. Do you get messed about constantly? That was many years ago, but I know from friends still there that it's still an issue. How much is that worth?
