CLX teams up with Mollymawk

Hi all

Recently Cargolux changed partners, from DLR to Mollymawk ( ex-DLR ).
What are the differences? What kind of multi tasking test is used?

Cheers

PT6Driver 14th Nov 2016 13:17

Mollymawk used to do testing for SunExpress. The procedure they used to use was to send you log on details for some practise tests. Once you had completed these online you could do the real test on interview day.
Maths, english and verbal reasoning plus 3 types of aptitude test, including multitasking.

Ok and are the tests similar? Like the multi tasking test for exemple.

I've been invited to take the Mollymawk Test the 2 December ,anyone is in ? Somebody already did it? if you have any advise :-)

Kranich 30th Nov 2016 21:13

My advice is not to underestimate it. If you feel comfortable with a test chances are that the reference group also did. So, feeling comfortable during preparation will not be sufficient to achieve a decent score. Fight to improve all parameters during training, not only one. Avoid errors. But don't sacrifice too much time for accuracy. Time matters, too. But don't rush either...

Spatial Orientarion and Working Memory are the hardest. Take a note of what Kranich said, don't underestimate it. Most people compare it with DLR, although I found that wrong. You can practise DLR numerous times how much you want, with Mollymawk you can not. Do your best and you'll pass.

ok thank you very much guys , keep you advise

Cannot compare Molymawk to DLR, however the lady who set up Molymawk came from DLR.
Original concept when it was used at SXS was that you got an online code and the chance to practise all the tests prior to visiting the centre to do the actual one.
The idea behind this being that all aplicants would thus be equally prepared and a more accurate assessment could be made.

Have you been given this opportunity to practice?

I tried 2 or 3 methods of doing each test then practised and refined the most successful method.

Hi guys,

I passed the MollyMawk

And have been invited for the next stage.
Anybody have any advice about the group exercises, interview questions or sim assessment? Would be greatly appreciated

Thanks all

How was the mollymawk test?

Hi, I am going to be taking the same test soon as well, could you give a few pointers on how the exam is? What is on it? What to specifically study for?

From what I know, they will give you a packet to study for the 2nd phase. The sim I think is straight forward, they'll tell you what to do during the sim like, fly in a pattern, turns, maintain headings. Then the interview will probably be logical questions like how to screw in a lightbulb and some other random questions from the mollymawk test like 37x26=?.

Its a sign of the times that pilots are putting in so much effort and committment to persuing a job which totally is in the air. Why?

Have you guys not heard about the CAAC medical , its short commings and failure rates? And if you pass the initial thats not a guide to your chances the following year. And a kick in the teeth if you've already resigned from current employer. Presuming you had one.

Are the same guys who CLC wasted their time with the DLR now blindly chasing this mollywhats-it-lot?

Its a joke. CLC keep blowing smoke up my ass , saying that ive been selected for the next stage. My 747 400 rating expired awhile ago , Cargolux you are ridiculous in your assumptions that im still qualified and would have the slightest interest in persuing your red herring of a job.

Good luch to all you crazy wannabe's .

When I went to a Cargolux interview it was one of the better conducted interviews I'd been to. Normal, balanced questions. The then CP, deputy CP and a lady from HR I think, can't quite recall. No tricks, very friendly. Just seemed like they wanted to get to know you. That was a couple of years ago. I liked the vibe from the start. I hope it's not changed, different people may of course be doing it now.

The Crew 25th Feb 2017 01:15

FYI, I'm referring to Cargolux China, a potential start up with DEC & DEFO. Based China. Not the Lux based ops, so it will be quite different regards management style I would imagine.
