Does Aer Lingus hire low hour pilots?
Hi guys!
I am wondering if Aer Lingus ever takes low hour pilots. I checked on their website, there are na vacancies in the air at the moment but maybe someone here has some more in-depth knowledge whether they consider low hour pilots in general and is there any chance recruitment would open up soon? I know they run the cadetship programme, I had applied but failed. I took up another path to acquire the fATPL and I am wondering if there's a chance they could consider me to apply as a low hour direct entry FO. Thanks for any info!! |

It's one word only

They just recruited about 3 months ago. Think the requirements were 500hours and a 320 type rating. With that being said I'm sure theres a long que of very experienced pilots just waiting for a chance.

Yes they do...sometimes. Just check their minimum requirements when applying. It may be a f(ATPL) as has been the case on certain occasions in the past

Ok thanks for replies guys!

Hi guys, anyone know what´s going on with the contractors in Air Lingus, are they been offered a permanent position after some time there?
cheers! |
Hopefully it employs experienced pilots that can fly aeroplanes ... ?!

Lingus has taken guys from all walks in recent years, from 150 hrs ex-integrated through to those with plenty of experience - like turboprop captains.
Recruitment is very hit and miss, and the process seems to change as often as the wind. The last batch were either contractors, or A320 rated I seem to recall. But then the market is buoyant. Won't be long till they get stretched again. |
