Current state of affairs at FlyBe?
 

Hi

Was wondering if anyone can update me on the current state of affairs at FlyBe. Hope to have an interview with them later this year (F/O on Dash 8-Q400) but there is surprisingly little to be found on them on the Internet. Can not find any current news here and a lot of data on pilotjobs.com is already outdated. Also found some info in this thread but since I'm a low timer that (interesting) discussion did not really apply to me.

Most the info I can find about them on the internet is from before 2013. I'm particularly interested rosters (how many days on/off), the possibilities to commute (I'm Dutch) and salary (which I hear is not that good) and also if it's just a good club to be flying for.

Any kind of info would be appreciated.

Minimum of 8 days off a month, generally comes closer to 10-12.
108 minimum in a year plus 20 days of leave increasing to 25 after 5 years I believe. (Don't quote me on that though)

Depending on where you're based, either day trips with the odd night away thrown in or almost continuous touring.

A few people do commute, albeit mostly within the UK. Staff travel's fairly useable if you're organised/ patient/ clued in.
A block of days off has to be 60 hours. Ie. finish on a late, two days off then start on a late. Or finish on a late with 3 days off before an early. A gaping loophole allows the company to get around this on occasion though.

Not sure about starting salary, circa £25k basic last I heard. Climbs fairly quickly after the first year though, around 3.5 years to command at the moment.
£2.10 an hour whenever you're at work (either flying or sat in a hotel)

Not a 'good club to be flying for', it's an alright airline job though.
The dash keeps you on your toes and with the length of sectors generally sub-1 hour, not much chance to get bored in the cruise.
