Any info? I would imagine they are tough to get on with? Thank you.

Icelandic nationals only (or right to work in Iceland+speak Icelandic)
Been hiring 20-30 every year for the last 4 years, however for the first few years it is a "summer job only" as you move up the seniority list. TR paid for by Icelandair, LoL, staff travel, 5 weeks of paid summer leave, 4 weeks in winter (i think) and random roster. Very strong union |
Nationality
They only consider Icelandic applicants, at least you have to speak Icelandic fluently.

Incorrect on the first part, more like it on the latter part. I know one Dane flies there, not sure if there are currently other expats, I know there was a Brit and and a couple of others there at one time. Iceland is part of the EEA (European Economic Area), so any citizen of the EEA has a de facto work permit.

yeah..de facto...reality,if you dont speak icelandic you cant neither apply!
|
Which is the same as any EU national airline. Can't speak the local lingo don't apply.
Air France, French Lufthansa, German (and the minor point of the DLR) KLM, Dutch BA, English Etc etc An employer should expect you to be able to speak to your fellow employees in the language that the majority of those co-workers speak. If nothing else it's common decency. |
