Important T&C for expat contract

Dear PPRuNer's,

What would be the most important T&C to for an expat contract?
Either direct or via Agency.
Elaborate a list from most important to least important item that one should pay attention before you sign it.

Those with experience are most welcome to respond.

How long is a piece of string ?

"Most important" relative to what benchmark ?

"Direct or agency" which is it ? There will be different conditions for both ?

Hell, you don't even specify what jurisdiction the contract is in !

Do yourself a favour and talk to a lawyer in the affected jurisdiction that specialises in such matters. An internet forum is no substitute for legal advice.

The question rather generic I know.
What I'm looking for are things such as:

- Medical assistance
- Housing/accommodation
- Loss of licence insurance
- Etc

These are the things I'm looking for.
For many the priorities differ.

I'm not looking for the legal aspects of the contract.
That would be a next step.

Sorry for my inexperience.

Contacts wit many foreign carriers are breached. However, many of such carriers have learned the hard way by not violating T & Cs as they relate to:

Pay;
QOL;
Housing;
Medical;
Loss of License.

To name a few.

Carriers I've worked for from the early '90s were more reputable. I've noticed their willingness to breach contacts or change the T & Cs when there're was a glut of pilots. But on the other hand there were pilots out there willing to lower the bar such as the P2Fers, DECs who joined Ethiopian knowing they will be paid $60.00 per day until line training is complete.

Who knows perhaps the pendulum will once again swing back to the way things were in the '90s.
