Irish Revenue and contractor allowances
 
Link to an Irish Independent article regarding the Irish Revenue clamping down on supposed company directors employing only themselves, working for one company and out-sourced to a third-party company.

Has to be a must-read for anyone thinking of joining an airline as a self-employed pilot (purely in my uneducated opinion)

If this is the case, a certain Irish Airline may not appear such an attractive prospect for contract captains!!

Exactly.

You'd be treated by Revenue as a PAYE worker (but without any of the statutory protections and severance payments afforded to full-time employees)

The local salary won't amount to much once you take the tax out and add commuting costs for many. Interesting stuff anyways.
