Jet2 package?
Does anyone have knowledge of the current Jet2 salary/allowances/benefits package and the flight/duty pay scales? Is there a long term pay agreement? Do they differ for the different bases? Also, any info about the roster patterns and annual leave would be interesting.

One pay rate for each rank, no scale as such but steady pay rises over past few years. Duty pay on top. Half pay until line check completed which is putting quite a few TR people off joining. Ppjn gives more details.

For type rated guys, you're looking at 6months on half pay upon joining. Nice place to work but the training is extremely slow!

And why is that? Are you not rated, available, under contract from day one? Cheap charlies.

Apparently even slower than the non type rated training.

And when it comes to sector pay, what does this mean?

6 months from DOJ?
6 months training for rated guys, is this the official line? We are only talking a few days of ground school, 3 or 4 sims and a check and line training. Are they very short on trainers and is this the timeframe for both seats? I don't see too many people leaving full time positions if this is the case, especially if you can expect 70% afterwards. Is this really the story at LS? I also was under the assumption that the 737 recruitment was over for this year?

Yes, I gathered that, but the only figures given on PPJN are those I quoted. Does that mean there is no sector pay for flights less than 1300nm (surely not?!) or that flights over 1300nm attract a premium? |
152, there are 3 different rates for sector pay. <1000nm, 1000-1300nm and >1300nm.
Can't remember what they are off the top of my head but I think the low one is £18.50 for captains and about half that for FOs. CK, I believe they've been short of trainers this year but 6 months is the exception rather than the rule. They've had NTR guys of through in about 4 months recently. |
Yeah, sector pay is about £24 per sector above 1300nm, £22 for a medium sector and £17 for a short sector. These are for a skipper. For an FO it's more like £10/9/8 respectively per sector. Duty pay is £2.10 per hour. Day off payments are about £400 for a captain and £250 for an FO. Captains basic is now about £81k, not sure on FO's, possibly about £55k for an SFO and £50k for an FO.
I'm surprised people are saying it's 6 months on half pay. When I joined as a type rated joiner, it was a few weeks for ground school and sim, then a couple of weeks for the 10 sectors line training and that was it on half pay. There is a bit of short term pain pay wise, what with 70% contracts and all that crap, but if it's an airline you want to work for, and you have the hours for command, you can quickly be on a permanent 100% contract on the pay i mentioned above, which although not industry leading, isn't too bad at all. |
WHen are they likely to start 737 rated Fo recruitment this year? they started around this time last year...

Sean Dillon; "Do you fully understand the benefits and terms of working for the company?", should have been a question you were asked. If it wasn't then it was an oversight, I guarantee nothing is hidden deliberately. May I ask what questions did you ask the interviewer? It takes 2 mins of internet research to discover the rough package. |
