Wizzair aplication status
 

I guys,

I´ve applied for Wizzair about one month ago for both type and non type rated first officer.

Today I´ve seen my status and it says:

Non Type Rated .- Submited for requisition
Type rated.- On file

My experience is ATPL 2.500 total with jet time 1.500 hrs and type rated on A320.

What can I expect, can someone give me any vector??

Wizz has (had?) hundreds of CV's to handle. They are famous for not answering online applications. Maybe you can find someone inside who takes your application out of the pile, just so they read it.

HR useless, but great atmosphere in some bases, and planning/scheduling friendly team.

I submitted my details 2 years or more and they are in the same status ever since. :bored:

Friend of mine went for interview in London along with 5 A320 rated guys - all were turned down in favour of cadets willing to pay WA for TR.

Some airlines won't look at you CV if you have WA time.

Interesting, would you care to name the airlines that won't look at you if you've worked for Wizz?

I know of people who've gone from Wizz to: Emirates, Eithad, Qatar, easyJet, Jet2, British Airways and plenty of top quality corporate operators.

So, they ain't that bad.

I did once hear that FlyNiki didn't like Wizz guys, but that was more a personality clash than anything else between the Chief Pilot and someone else.

So, name them please. Or stop talking nonsense.

the money is :mad: in wizz but you can expect a fast upgrade for fo´s who comes with some experience. that´s why many guys will stay in wizz although they have some opportunities to fly in asia or middle east but they prefer to be based in Europe.

I have a question and i point my question to the non rated FO of wizz.

I have been doing some calculations. As a non rated fo you get 1666eur gross a month. You get around 30 eur per sector, lets say you do 30 sector a month. 1666 + 900 gives 2566 gros a month. Then it is reduced with 1000 eur. Gives me 1566 eur gross. You pay 30% tax and social contributions equals 470 eur. 1096 eur net. I have to rent an appartment, rent a car, buy food.... How the hell can you survive? Is there something i am missing here?

Your calculation is absolutely right.

It all depends on your contract and how much you have to pay to various places, but expect around 1100-1300 euroes NET. In Poland you can easily live for around 900 euroes with everything included. (and Poland is one of the more expensive countries of the bases Wizz has) It doesnt leave you with much extra each month, but at least you can survive, you can get some flight hours, and you can "enjoy" the job which you have always wanted. It is for 15 months, and after that you live even better(1000 euro more plus SFO salary)...at least in Eastern Europe, but Wizz only operates right now from Eastern European Countries.

Wizz Air is not a place to go if you are looking for money that is for sure. But you get many other good things from here which you might not get from other airlines. All in all it depends on your personality and what you treasure the most. And of course also on what you have on offer...some people only have Wizz as their option.

Still beats shelling out +50k Eur for type rating and line training... Doesn't it? :E

Germany, in my view, is the beginning of Western Europe. Anything much further east is probably better classified as Central and then Eastern Europe.

Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary aren't yet "Western" countries. Getting there? Perhaps. But not yet.

And bearing in mind the mess the "West" has been in.... do they want to be?

You have to live in Eastern Europe for a long period of time to understand how people make a living there. And after you did you may accept that life there used to be different and it will always be different than in any Western European country. And yes, you can make a decent living with the salary from Wizz Air very easily. It all depends on your expectations and lifestyle. There are many other things that are cheaper than in Western Europe (rents except Bucharest, all services and utilities, petrol, dental clinics, etc.). Supermarkets can be as expensive as in Germany for example, with some things being even more expensive.

I was in Wizz 2 years.... Not so far.... One year ago.... And I only have good words for the management team... They relied on me when any Airline in Europe did it....
I flew in 3 different bases: KTW, PRG and finally BBU ( now OTP)... I left them due to a good reason... Coming back home....but many times in last 15 months I missed my colleagues there....
I learnt how to fly the bus in very demanding situations.... Winter OPS and LVO in pack....hahahahaha..... Not so similar to The weather in LPA....
For me Wizz is a very good starting point for a Bus career..... I know that The money sometimes is not enough and The living costs in BUCHAREST are very similar to Europe..... But no way..... It is more funny that Western Europe.... Do you think so Narrow Runway?????

I only want to desire all The best for my friends in WIZZ..... And I hope to visit all of you... Very soon

Absolutely agree, good company, great people.

Flying was to good SOP's, good route network and most of all, if you didn't do things wrong you'd be left alone to get on with it.

I can honestly say that my 2 years in Wizz were the best flying I've had. True, it was my first Command, but it was good nonetheless.

I've said it before. Play the game and you'll get all the opportunities you need in Wizz.

Just a shame they haven't got their UK base sorted yet.

Not sure I understand your point.

I'm fairly sure that a UK base will never happen in Wizz. There have been opportunities to establish a LTN base, none better than in 2009, in my view.

The best UK Wizz Air pilots can hope for is that they meet a beautiful girl and settle down in their respective base, or that they get a slot in a commutable base. BUD, WAW or GDN. Or possibly KTW (but that is a real test of faith to survive the grimness of the city).

Other than that, I enjoyed most of my time there. They gave me opportunities that didn't exist elsewhere at the time - or even since.
