Primera Air

Hi there

I've looked for some info regarding the company Primera Air in the search tool but nothing.
Do you guys know anything regarding the pilot conditions?
Salary, roster, stability, etc.. I've seen that they'll be recruiting for 2013 season, summer only? Long term?

Cheers.

BlackandBrown 30th Oct 2012 15:54

Primera Air pilot jobs, payscales and entry requirements.

archer_737 30th Oct 2012 16:37

Saw that web, but I'm not sure if everything written there is believable.

Thank you anyway!

Boeing Europe 30th Oct 2012 18:36

Google primera air PPRUNE plenty of onfo apparently last year they took on only 10-15 guys even some guys with 2500k 737NG houra were being refuses :ugh:

archer_737 30th Oct 2012 19:00

Oh nice, got 2600hours :ok:

Just received an automatic email:

Interviews for selected candiates will be held durring the period from November 2012 to February 2013. Depending on crew need and training schedule, pilots will be phased in for summer contracts. Contract lengths will be from 3-7 months. The jobs offered will be for a fixed term, not permanent terms. In the fall 2013, when crew need for winter 2013-2014 is clear, continued work might be offered. Selection criteria for continued work will depend on mutual interest, bases available, crew composition and performance.

We hope this answers the questions you might have.

If you guys want the job right now and to be flying for years growing hours and € it isn't a really good option.
But better than nothing!

Boeing Europe 30th Oct 2012 19:17

I got the same e-mail , Archer Gaurda are also hiring experienced pilots all fleets including 737 CL and NG

archer_737 30th Oct 2012 19:24

Yes, I've seen that.
Already got a job, just checking how things are in Europe. Jakarta is too far right now.
Thank you for the info!

It is indeed, have been in Lion Air now for 1+ years. I also sent application to Primera Air. But it sounds a bit unstable. Just really don't want to stand in a situation where they don't need any flying for winter season.
What about the Norwegian contract program, any success?

captplaystation 31st Oct 2012 12:19

I know of one person who started back in Spring who will continue over Winter

(albeit with a base in HEL . . . . or in Winter should that be HELL ? ;) ) but I don't know how many others were given this opportunity.

It seems their requirement is a bit seasonal, but then again, ask any Ryanair FO how many hours he expects to fly between now & Springtime

A340rider 31st Oct 2012 16:30

This Primera vacancy is open to Skandis only...always has always will...FACT!!
If you are not one of them lot forget it!!

archer_737 31st Oct 2012 18:46

Sure about that?
Got a friend working there for the last 3 or 4 years, no Scandi speaking at all.

A340rider 31st Oct 2012 19:24

Any one had an Interview

Guys

Anyone who's applied for the 73 pilot jobs heard from them?

kwstas 30th Nov 2012 21:08

Hi.
Applied two weeks ago without any response. On the other hand, due to my relative inexperience on type, i am aware that i am not the first candidate to call.

Assestment

Any feedback from who has been called for the assestment???

Boeing Europe 12th Dec 2012 16:06

Got the same e-mail....

Wesker 12th Dec 2012 17:46

1200 applicants for 20 contracts... :ugh:

And people continue to pay for fATPL training...

airstairz 12th Dec 2012 18:00

Got the mail saying all places have been filled for the coming year but if there are any changes in feb 2013 then more crew can be sourced. Been sending out CVs for the past 5 months and everyone in europe is fully crewed for the coming year. Really don't fancy picking up the family and moving to Asia but that could be my next move if nothing comes through soon.

airstairz 12th Dec 2012 18:16

Every where that has a posting online for a pilot position.

uchy 13th Dec 2012 04:57

Primera Air

1200 copilot rated applied for a summer contract???

wingbar 13th Dec 2012 22:11

Yep...apparently so, had the same email and was told the same.
Isn't aviation a mess.....

Scott_T 18th Dec 2013 23:53

Boeing where did you apply in the pacific?

Has anyone applied to Primera air this year? I applied last week still have not heard anything? Does anyone know how many guys they are looking for? It seems like in the past they have recruited only 10-20 and had a huge number of applications I can't see how as it is only a summer contract....

Scott_T 21st Dec 2013 11:44

Surely some people have applied or this could be very good new for me

Cont 21st Dec 2013 11:57

I also applied for it, never heard anything back though.

CI36 15th Jun 2016 11:27

Does anyone have any recent information about this company? Pay, are danish bases being given, etc. Any info is greatly appreciated.

captplaystation 15th Jun 2016 11:37

I know of someone who joined as a Contract Capt, he has not much more than 500 Command time. Money is good, a 6 mth contract with very high possibility of extension (probably on 50% ) into the Winter.

Bases proposed were Billund, somewhere else I don't remember, and Iceland. Roster/ money was (if I remember correctly ) sightly better in Iceland.

You are employed via their Latvian AOC, as far as I know tax/social is YOUR responsibility.

CI36 15th Jun 2016 14:49

Thanks for the update captplaystation :)

callaway8 8th Jun 2017 20:40

Dont do it...

Primera has now started with their own TR courses and apparently 2016/17 course 13 out of 35 got hired......mostly pilots from Denmark who knew the TRIīs got a contract! During groundschool students were told 85% of the course students or everyone were needed for the summer to spread the word. Fully qualified pilots with 1000 to 2000+ hrs didīt get the job after completed TR. HQ in Riga was really badly organised and interviewer barely speaks english. Primera have found a new way to earn some cash. Captains are leaving and economy is going down! This is info i got from an inside source.

New course starting in fall 2017! Latvian AOC! You can figure out the rest!

Iver 10th Jun 2017 17:44

Wow - that looks GOD AWFUL.

No surprise the strategy they are following which is similar to NAI in terms of circumventing expensive and inflexible Nordic labor laws... And yet they expect to fill their shiny new, transatlantic-bound 737-9 MAX aircraft with experienced crew. Good luck with that!

172_driver 10th Jun 2017 18:51

Well Iver, as it happens the good ole legacy carrier oop north is planning to follow its low cost rival with agency workers based in the UK (pre-Brexit at least). Looking at the package at hand, I wouldn't be surprised if you soon see a jump from blue to red.
