EASA Flight duty time proposal
What's the story behind EASAs flight duty times. Must be some hard lobbying going on by some part. Would be nice to hear if someone had some inside information.

Yikes, where have you been?
Here's one link to one campaign over the subject - you've got some catching up to do: HOME | Keep Flying Safe |
The root of the problem
Thanks wiggy for the link.
However I would appreciate some information about what airlines are pressuring EASA and how they came to this irrational proposal. |
In the UK it is the same government department that came up with the Virgin Train decision, that is, a conclusion based on prejudice and lack of mathematical ability by civil servants.
The house of common select committee for transport published a very good report in the UK but so far it has been ignored by decision makers. I don't think the politicians have the critical thinking minds to enable a logical decision to be made. |
working 22 hours might soon be reality
ECA have a website for this. ECA | Dead Tired
I don't understand why they only have 60 000 signs so far. Time for people in Europe to wake up. |
Accountability
60.000 Protest should be enough to get anyone's attention. But you are right, the more the better. The decision makers should know that they may be held accountable next time we have an accident involving fatigue.
What are the chances to personally prosecute them for their neglect of flight safety ? |
Could be that the only ones signing are the crew that will have to work under the FTL, no one else cares. Managers only see more profit and passengers lower fares, while the decision makers get a suntan basking in their own ignorance.

Could be that the only ones signing are the crew that will have to work under the FTL, no one else cares. I rather suspect a more concerted campaign by some of the cabin crew associations could have pushed the signature count up considerably but in my experience this whole debate doesn't seem to have produced a blip on their collective radar, though I'm happy to be corrected.... As for the general public - as long as they think the rule change means they will get a cheap ticket they really don't care. |
EASA and how they came to this irrational proposal. :hmm: |
