Any ideas for a 737 FO

Turkish airlines and Korean air are the adds I see poping up most for 73 drivers

archer_737 24th Jul 2012 23:48

THY or Korean, but I think they're asking for more than 1500TT

Same for FlyDubai, check their web.

Good luck!

Breakthesilence 25th Jul 2012 18:40

Try Small Planet Airlines or one of the turkish airlines, they have a lot of 737s over there: Corendon, Tailwind, Anadolu Jet, Pegasus, Sun Express, Sky Airlines...

Have a look in Indonesia: Lionair, Batavia, Sriwijaya...

or Africa: Precision Air

Boeing Europe 26th Jul 2012 04:39

Korean require a university Degree , Turkish require 1500 TT (very strict on this) Small planet finished Fo recruitent , have been sending CV's to the turkish airlines but have not been getting a response :ugh: , aviation CV have advertised a 737 gig in Brazil 500 on type still no response from aviation CV after sending them 4 or so e-mails:ugh:

Boeing Europe 26th Jul 2012 05:01

Does anyone have any contact info on anadolu jet no information on the web PPJN PPC etc thanks

Akrep 26th Jul 2012 09:01

Anadolujet is part of Turkish Airlines, they dont have their own recruitment, Turkish airlines pilots, and more recently Sunexpress crew operating the planes.

aviator_ 26th Jul 2012 10:57

Boeing,

Turkish Airlines have F/O positions using Parc Aviation I believe, you might have to check the website and see if it's still open. Depending on your other flight time on top of your 1k on type you may be eligible.

Jockster 26th Jul 2012 11:24

FlyBe - Dash 8 have P2 positions.

inner 26th Jul 2012 12:51

I'm really surprised. 1k on type and still struggling to find something.:ugh: This market is really dead. Try contact the contracting companies like parc, risworth etc. Even if it is for 6 months.

Good luck

FlyBe - Dash 8 have P2 positions
Where did you find this out? I thought they weren't taking direct applications?

Ronand 27th Jul 2012 10:47

Forget it there are no Jobs. I am a current B737 First officer, currently flying with ATPL, over 1500TT around 1000hrs on 737NG.
I have been looking for jobs over the past half year. I have also applied anywhere, even companies I would not want to work for just to see if I could get a positive response.
If you look at advertisments u might think there are a few jobs, but there will be always some small print requirement you don't have: Here a list where I have applied:
-Korean Air: small print Uni degree required... Dismissed

-Air Pacific: snmall print ( resident permit for USA, NZ or AUS... Dismissed

-Turkish: Not only 1500TT but 1500hrs on aircraft above 27tonnes I was told after applying... Dismissed

-Norwegian: Scandi Language preferred (Guess where the 1000 unhappy scandinavian ryr FO's will apply this summer.... No response.

-Some contract company in Brazil: Aviation CV only500hrs on type req... No response. Must be flooded with applicants...

-Qatar applied several month ago no response....

-Flydubai due to high number of applicants application on hold.....

- Contract in Pakistan (latestpilotjobs) 500 hrs on type 3500TT, non commuting and probably low money aswell... Who on earth would want to work and live in this hellhole, who has these kind of hours??.....

I really applied everywhere just to see if I could atleast get one positive response, I also applied in a professional manner with a well organized CV. And guess what not one positive reply.... This shows us how bad the situation really is...

inner 27th Jul 2012 11:02

Ronand,

Did you try emirates/ethiad/lion air?

What about china? I see a lot of companies looking for rated people. It is really hard for me to understand that a rated guy on 737ng can't find a job.

Dont give up, your marketvalue should be good enough.

Ronand 27th Jul 2012 11:12

@Inner you got something wrong:
I have a job, I just applied anywhere to see what my chances really are, and If I could possibly find a better job.

emirates requires 3000 hrs on jet and is currently not recruiting Fo's.
Etihad requires 2500hrs on jet.
Lionair is doing P2fly with 0 hr guys, and never will be hiring experienced FO's. Why should they pay money for what they get for free....
Trust me I have applied anywhere possible, also companies I would never work for just to see what the marketvalue really is and the value is really 0- Thats fact....

inner 27th Jul 2012 11:13

Ok i c. Indeed i misunderstood you.

Chr

Boeing Europe 28th Jul 2012 07:09

I 100% agree with ronand I have also applied to all of these compnaies to no avail , aviation CV are a pain in the ass , they advertise a position and then do not respond to e-mails even telling you if the position actually exists

deadcut 31st Jul 2012 05:11

OP

How did you end up out of work in the first place?

B737NG 31st Jul 2012 07:22

Is that the end of the road? I am affraid it could be the turning moment but it will be most likely missed. In the same moment I am writing this I have a banner on the right side with a guaranty of 500 hrs on type if you do a new typerating and after that? back to square one. Saturated market, to get the T&Cīs back on track, upwards of course. (for those who cannot guess).

A few years back I made over 10kīs net per month. At the same time Iīve got offered 9K job, did not take it, today the offer is below 9k and there are still takers, unbelieveable but sadlu true. Would you pay more if you get the same around the corner cheaper?

Just for all who havenīt got the drive by now: Time is over where Aircrews laying at the beach (or the bitch) and do a few trips per month. After return to home get enough days off to recover from what?

Flying became too cheap, the beancounters love it, the salesperson as well. Rockbottom and one day the earthquake shakes it up.

I retire in a few years, seeing sadly a nice profession going down the drain. No long term committments anymore, part time, summer contract, zero time applicants rejected. People sending in a CV, well mannerd, not even a single reply from HR, no manners anymore! All that contributes towards the downturn.

Fly safe and land happy

NG

Just looked at this job opening. Now it is really going to far. You must have flown the 737 as a capt to apply for an FO position....
Boeing 737 First Officers-Latest Pilot Jobs-Latest Pilot Jobs
Isn't this a bit redicolous?

Flying Mechanic 1st Aug 2012 10:04

not really, it probably means you need a PIC rating.

You have to remember these recruiters are writing these adverts in a second language.

I know of expat pilots who have gone to China as F/O and got Captain
positions, based on Command time on a Turbo prop. I fly in Corporate based in Asia, in the the space of 6 months, the chinese have realized you can't find type rated guys, so now its "experience in a similar type", times are changing in China....and one good thing is they are realizing you have to pay more money!!!:D

Ronand 1st Aug 2012 10:17

But it clearly states must have flown the B737 as capt? Who would go to China to downgrade? I really doubt anyone would do that...

Lord Spandex Masher 1st Aug 2012 10:28

You seem to be forgetting that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of type rated pilots who are actually experienced.

A thousand hours is but a small drop in a very very large pond of experience.

You might just have to swallow your pride and go and fly something that isn't new, shiney, may have propellers and even pistons!

Wirbelsturm 1st Aug 2012 10:47

Who would go to China to downgrade?
Perhaps it's written just to avoid the abject annoyance of any local pilot being shunted in ahead of ex-pat pilots when it comes to Commands/rosters!

Personally I find it ludicrous if the adverts required conditions are correct but, hey, some muppet will take it!

inner 1st Aug 2012 11:16

It is for me really hard to understand that an FO with 1000 on type on 737 cant find a job, even a 6 month contracting job! Or is it me???:ugh:

Flying Mechanic 1st Aug 2012 11:25

its probably another scam.....every pilot i know in China , airline or corporate gets screwed over someway.

canaryislander 4th Aug 2012 19:26

B737 jobs

Same problem. have been stuck in front of my PC for 3 months looking for work as a B737 F/O looking all around the world except europe since I have a FAA ATP. 3500 hrs, 2500 on B737 200 and 300, 30 years flying experience and nothing.

Supposed to be more 73s flying arond than any other aircraft so where are the jobs ?

Agencies hundreds of them and it all seems a mess, they are all advertising and readvertising each others jobs and never seem to delete the posts which are o longer available.

Turkish777 5th Aug 2012 08:55

Ive seen Miami Air advertise for F.O.'s a few times this year..I could think of worse places to be, thats assuming you have a US Green Card or Citizenship.

Roll on Silk Airs Boeing 737 NG order...2014 I believe...

Precision Air offered me an interview but I declined due to the cost of getting there...They pay one night at a hotel though so nearly makes it worth while...:ugh:

Breakthesilence 5th Aug 2012 20:48

Canaryislander, you can try Aloha Air Cargo:

https://home.eease.adp.com/recruit2/?id=1258281&t=1

If I had an FAA licence and US green card, I would have moved there for the rest of my life :ugh:

Breakthesilence 5th Aug 2012 20:55

I have a funny question for those who got in touch with Africa and career path over there:

Could a B737 First Officer with 4000 hours on type be considered for a captain upgrade fast track?

How does it work in Precision Air?

Ronand 6th Aug 2012 09:22

The problem is there are no FO jobs really.... There are a lot of options for captains, but fos are easy to pick up from the street in every country, pay them peanuts or even nothing.... There are a bit more options for Airbus rated guys but also not great for FO...

LLuCCiFeR 6th Aug 2012 09:36

Where did you gain your experience Boeing Europe?

How did you end up out of work in the first place?
Let me guess: pay to fly?

Boeing Europe 6th Aug 2012 14:25

Not Pay to fly actually....

captplaystation 6th Aug 2012 17:13

Just had an "offer" from Aviation CV.

Capt's in Kenya, Capt/FO on 732 in Bagdad etc & Capt & FO in Afghanistan on 733.

For FO they pay €3500 after tax (Yeah right ;) sure you want to pay tax in Lithuania ) & say you can expect 100hr/mth & to stay in very safe hotel in Diplomatic zone.

They ask 1000tt & 500 737.

Truly cr@p, & with this lot I have doubts their "offers" actually exist.

Well an email costs nothing.
