Telstar 28th Feb 2012 16:03

I think that is TUIfly? They were advertising summer contracts elsewhere.

Axum 28th Feb 2012 16:41

What does EFIS means? CL only or CL/NG?

Shockwave83 28th Feb 2012 17:51

The newer 737 classics had EFIS flight instruments whereas the earlier ones has good old fashioned analogue instrumentation. I assume the airline operates newer generation 737 classics. Don't think it's TUI as I believe they operate 700 and 800s?

despegue 28th Feb 2012 17:57

This must be jet2.com in my opinion.
I can't think of many other airlines in Europe still operating a large fleet of B737EFIS.

LOT?
AirBaltic?
Czech Airlines?

Breakthesilence 28th Feb 2012 18:50

Carpatair, Small Planet or Primair (former Prima Aerotrasporti, maybe going to change the name in Wiki Airlines).

smith 28th Feb 2012 19:36

Sounds like Ryanair to me :-D

Callsign Kilo 28th Feb 2012 19:40

Yes smith, must be. Ryanair and their 737-300's

Fly26 28th Feb 2012 20:31

place your bets............

-JOL- 28th Feb 2012 21:46

JAA ATPL required, you reckon that goes for F/O:s as well?

scanman24 29th Feb 2012 02:03

Lufthansa, KLM? Just a thought...

Boeing Europe 29th Feb 2012 03:12

Could well be carpatair, definitly not jet2 because its a 3 on 1 off flight home paid for JET2 always require relocation not TUI because they have NG's aswell, recruiter said they are ideally looking for guys with 737CL experience however if there is demand they will accept NG guys but only 5 positions at the moment, technically the NG is efis aswell.

captplaystation 29th Feb 2012 06:06

5 positions = normally crew for 1 aircraft, & I believe Carpatair are getting just the one initially. The job was advertised twice on latestpilotjobs.com. I applied twice, but not a cheep.
Base will be I believe Chisinau Moldova, (even though they say Timisoara "or any base in Romania") as , if you google it , you will find Carpatair are starting flights to Italy etc direct from there with B737 on 26/03.
They don't as yet have any 737, so the job may well be offered through Blue Air, for whom they operated some Saab 2000's in the past.
I have met guys who flew the Fokker 100 for these folk, & roster was (vaguely) 3 on 1 off. . . so could be.

We have been presented with an opportunity to place between 4-8 pilots with an airline for 500 hours or one year whichever comes first.
To qualify for this you must complete the type rating with us and be ready to join the airline in early May. The type rating training will start last week in March at Heathrow.
Cost of assessment is £540 inc VAT.
Type rating £15,000 + VAT
Base Training £6000 no VAT
Line Flying £27,500 no VAT.
You must hold a JAA licence and current ME/IR. We can complete your MCC if required at an extra cost of £2000 + VAT
You will be paid flight pay when you fly. The airline location is Europe and a knowledge of German would be an advantage.

presented with an opportunity
Not sure that this definition of opportunity makes it to any dictionary. Pay £49k to work for a year:eek: Surely nobody is that (lost for words...)

Bad enough to pay for type-rating & base training, but £27500 to pay to operate the plane, NO WAY:=!! That's what we GET PAID FOR.

I hope nobody applies to this, disgrace:mad:.

Boeing Europe 29th Feb 2012 16:02

I am pretty sure that is fly Nikki they have a P2F scheme, what a joke 49K to work for someone for a year :ugh::ugh:

finals24 1st Mar 2012 17:32

Spoke to the agency today - FO 1000hrs HAS TO BE on B737CL EFIS. They will not accept NG hours........do they not understand it is the same aeroplane. Small minded or what? (I have 900 CL and 1200NG so not in the running)

captplaystation 1st Mar 2012 19:16

Based on what they were paying Capts, I am surprised they can be so choosy for FO's, guess that says how many of you guys are on the market.

Shaman 2nd Mar 2012 09:40

Based on what they were paying Capts,
What was on offer for captains?

captplaystation 5th Mar 2012 19:40

Sorry, missed your Q. For Capt. . . . .

293€/day , min 12 days paid in Apr/May whether you work them or not, till end of contract thereafter, they were forecasting 22 on 7 off & two days to travel, they tried to suggest you would earn 293x22 till I pointed out that "normally" you couldn't work 22 days consecutively :hmm: so, I guess 18x293. There was some other little add-ons like holiday pay, so a (small) golden handshake & there was 350€ allowance for travel home each mth. Hotac provided, base they don't say, but googling Carpatairs plans it appears to be Chisinau, starting services there on 26/03.
Not the worst, but not far off.

My Romanian girlfriend tells me Moldova is entirely populated by Whores & Alcoholics. . . so there are at least some compensations :D

Shaman 6th Mar 2012 09:29

Thanks CaptPS. You are correct - it is not as bad as some (Small Planet springs to mind!) alas there has been no response to me ...

captplaystation 6th Mar 2012 18:21

Yep, SPA is not a substitute for a lottery win :hmm:

The lack of response is puzzling, I applied twice ( by different methods) when they advertised directly ( with 13000hr+ on type) & heard nothing. When AeroPro advertised I eventually managed to find out who it was, & that courtesy of my previous application I couldn't apply through them (wasn't too heartbroken) so, I have this niggling doubt whether it will actually happen, or will it be the usual Fri a-noon call to start on Mon morning ?

Boeing Europe 6th Mar 2012 22:50

I have still heard nothing from SPA FO 737,however I did manage to get in touch with the recruiter and she said to call back end of march for FO's as they are "currently focusing on captains only" ............?:ugh:

captplaystation 7th Mar 2012 05:08

With the greatest of respect that is . They had a course of new FO's start on Monday, & appear to be having difficulty recruiting Capt's (the €4000 salary possibly doesn't help) The problem is that they prefer to take a rated but zero-hour on type guy on one of their 5 yr (maybe) P2F contracts. You can read about it on another thread on training forum.

Boeing Europe 7th Mar 2012 05:50

A new course started monday.....? Well I was told blatent lies then,I was told no FO recruitment for another 3 weeks to ring her back then gave her full name etc etc, thats really annoying, whats the point in lying, and if CPT is 4k I cant imagine what FO is is 4k the basic and perdiem sector on top of that

Flyit Pointit Sortit 7th Mar 2012 07:33

So why are you still applying for this position?????:ugh::ugh::ugh:

Boeing Europe 7th Mar 2012 18:31

Because there is nothing else out there, and the majority of other contracts are 1500TT im about 300 short so to be honest I dont mind putting up with **** pay for about 6 months in order to,get something different only choice I have

737max 7th Mar 2012 19:05

Guys,

The course which started on Monday was for 2 type rated guys starting the 5 year contract with Aviationcv and they will be doing 500 hrs with SPA and there is 7 more guys due to start once they've completed their type rating with baa.

I hope this helps.

Piltdown Man 7th Mar 2012 19:09

Lufthansa, KLM? Just a thought...
Yor 'aving a larf!

PM

captplaystation 7th Mar 2012 19:12

€4000 + hotel provided is it . . . .

For FO's & the joys of the 5 year contract , it is all on the thread in the other forum, possibly titled Aviation C.V /Baltic Aviation Academy, but you will find it if you search under Small Planet Airlines.

Boeing Europe 7th Mar 2012 23:47

So are they basically not taking on any rated experienced guys directly is everything this 5 year stuff through BAA or aviation CV.

captplaystation 8th Mar 2012 05:08

AFAIK (or have seen) looks like Yes. Know quite a few experienced guys who applied (like you say found nothing else) none have made any progress beyond telephone promises.

captjns 8th Mar 2012 06:00

To wannabes...know this one and all... tuition comes at a very high price.

This reminds me of a scene from the movie Porky’s… Great movie by the wayhttp://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...ies/thumbs.gif.

A groups of high schoolers fro Angel Beach go a house of ill repute to experience their first assignation. Well they pay Porky a large sum of money…. Shown to a special door, to which they open with great anticipation, only to find themselves in a swamp.

Porky is up on the balcony with other patrons of his establishment laughing at the lads in the water who not only had their egos diminished, but less the sum of money they came with without the reward of receiving the anticipated services to be rendered.

To those expecting sympathy:= for getting hosed by the likes of these types of bottom feeders who prey on the innocent???http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...lies/yeees.gif rent the movie Porky's. After watching the movie recommend it to any of your mates thinking about scams such as these.

Consider it as a nondeductible tax learning expensive.http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...ies/boohoo.gif
