Anyone know any non German Lufthansa pilot?
 

Hi there!
I have looking for couple of days are there any non German Lufthansa pilot and i actually didn't find anybody. I'm sure that there are some non Germans Lufthansa pilots AND if you know topic/blog of non German Lufthansa pilot please show to me!
I think that, the main reason for few non German pilots are that you have to talk good German (Almost as good as citizens)
Lufthansa would be ideal airliness for me, but only reason why im thinking this is that im Finnish.

Rkar - if you *really* want to work for Lufthansa but your German isn't good enough have you considered finding a job at a small airline (or a LCC) living at a base in Germany ?

A year living in a country and being forced to speak the language - possibly including a relationship with one of the locals along with some motivation can work wonders on one's ability in the language

I can speak for Condor, which is largely run by ex-lufty, that they require a good proficiency in German to be considered. Some of our guys are in the (very long) process of transferring from within the group and language has been a sticking point. Part of the agreement includes a proviso to learn German within a set time. I would imagine LH, as well as most of Europe's legacy airlines are the same.

LH Cityline have recruited a lot of non-Germans over the last few years and subject to age and medical, you can bid to one of the othe LH companies after a few years.

Otherwise, the regional partners Eurowings and Augsburg Airways (where I worked) also have a fair number of foreign nationals, but the future doesn't look too bright for either at the moment and there is not automatic transfer to LH.

Aer lingus don't require people to be fluent in Irish. :rolleyes:

That's because Irish isn't a language but a speach impediment :)

I know of at least a couple of LH cargo pilots that are American. However, they can speak fluent German. I think that they are of German stock, so maybe they have dual citizenship.

CityLine now require the DLR test and interview in German

Last year at least 35 Dutch pilots have been hired at DLH/GWI/CLH... Many more Dutch guys already work for them.
Fluent German is a must but you don't have to be a German citizen to be allowed to work for DLH.

I know some Swiss guys. They all speak German - if you call their accent German ;)
