BA Cityflyer Pay Ballot result

As a former BACF employee I was pleased to have heard that they have rejected the companies lastest Pay offer.
98% NO with, I was told a 93% turn out!

What is the next step?
Do you think they have enough support within the pilot workforce to take it further?

I hope to see them get what they deserve as they are currently the lowest paid jet operators in the UK.

Best of luck guys.

Good on them.

BACF in my opinion is one of the few 'proper' jet operators, the only down side when I viewed it was their pay package. Hiring guys from flight school, not expecting them to pay for their rating, paying for things people like me have to pay for themselves.

I've been on one of their assessment days (identical pretty much to BA) and the only thing I found hard to accept was the lowly pay they made, and having to use that to live within reasonable range of London City airport. Good to see they have a bit of unity it seems, BACF could easily be a career airline with an improved pay deal. I would love to be treated better by my company, but at the end of the day even on the crappy contract I'm on, and with paying for all my loss of licence/medicals etc etc the list goes on, I still end up with way way more money each year, and lets face it - its just a nice job we all do, pays the bills and puts a roof over our heads.

Good luck to those in BACF- very nice bunch those that I've met, and worth fighting for no question!!

It will be interesting to see what happens next, a pay deal needs to be sorted out if they want to keep any experience in the company. A lot of people are staying to see what happens in the short term with an escape plan in place. It will also be interesting to see what happens with the BMI deal as all of the obstacles preventing us from being on the master seniority list would need to be sorted out if BMI becomes part of BA. I believe there has been some discussions between the company councils already regarding possible outcomes.

E190,
Interesting times. I think it will be a long drawn out affair and the mgmt will rely in the continuing attrition to dilute the strength of the feeling that we are grossly underpaid.
The general feeling is that the company is a bit of a basket case - continuing recruitment for non-jobs at HQ whilst scrimping for every penny at the sharp end. All rather odd.
It will probably get rather unpleasant for us in the hope that people cave in and as far a seniority in BA goes - a pipe dream I'm afraid. I would think that an ever increasing number of low paid short haul pilots in IAG is the way forward if you are Management. :ugh:
