PrivatAir do not take DECs anymore.

JQKA 6th Jul 2013 01:29

King Dong,
from the Privatair website:

" Currently there are no open positions for pilots. However, we are always interested in getting to know skilled people and you are encouraged to complete online application form.
Please note that we DO NOT ACCEPT applications by mail, email or fax and will not be able to provide any further information over the telephone."

And I add, if you are not rated, 500 on type and 1000 TT you can't go forward with the online application as stated....but....if you know another way...;)

FO recruitment

It seems fo recruitment has begun.
Any info concerning BZV ops?

payforlife 3rd Feb 2014 10:10

Hi, got invited for a 737 fo position in Brazzaville. Any info to share on life there, accommodation and life outside working hours? Every hint would be appreciated.
:)

sean1982 3rd Feb 2014 15:00

Hotel Is being provided by the company. It's the Ledger hotel which is the best in brazza. Roster pattern at the moment is 14 on-14 off but company is looking to extend that, your contract will state 16 on- 12 off. Flying is quite boring because always the same short flights. Flights will be rostered up to max duty. Aircraft are old, but mostly well maintained. 2 NG's and 1 B763 will join the ecair ops.

PTI's future completely hangs on the ecair operation. If ecair pulls out, a lot of people are going to be unemployed at PTI. People are running away like mice on a sinking ship :E

Iver 3rd Feb 2014 17:57

Sean,

Are you referring to just the scheduled services? I assume the charter and managed aircraft operations are doing OK - but I could be very wrong...

What about the VIP 787s and long-delayed C-Series on the way?????

payforlife 3rd Feb 2014 19:54

I've been told roster will be 20/10 that sounds much better but I don't know if on the contract will be actually like that.

I was asking about accommodation since it wasn't mentioned in the email. I am assuming also that free tickets on the Brazzaville - Paris route are not just for positioning at the beginning and end of the contract.

Might sound like silly doubts but worth to ask I guess.

Scott_T 3rd Feb 2014 23:32

I also got the e-mail and invite, judging by what people are saying I think it will only be out of work rated 737 drivers going down here as it has been said if EC air pull out it is bye bye job, if anyone could PM me a gauge on the interview I would greatly appreciate it as I am not working for a very long time I will jump at this opportunity.

payforlife 4th Feb 2014 07:27

You made the point Scott, having another job I wouldn't consider this but being home sendind cv without many options around I would definitely jump on the ship even if a sinking one.

I would appreciate as well any PM with info about what to expect at the interview.

Kestrell820 9th Feb 2014 13:52

PTI

Sorry guys,
but I think I have to clarify some stuff about PTI.
First of all, nobody is leaving any sinking ship!!! (No idea which ship is actually sinking!!!???)
I don´t know were you have this info from sean, but its not true.
There are a couple of scandinavians (I think 3) returning closer to home, and some FO´s leaving FRA base for other reasons,
buts thats it! EC-Air is expanding like crazy and PTI gets 2 NG´s and 1 767 in the next months. This will be, by the way, also connected with some upgrades. Its true that Africa is still not politically the safest environment, but for the forseeable future it looks quite promising in Congo.
Regarding the contract, you will have a nice inverview, were all the facts will be provided. For now its 15/15 but it might change a bit to 16/14.
Atmosphere in BZV among pilots is super, but as its still Africa, there are lots of things not ideal. Also to call the ops "boring" is wrong! Maybe the work in the cabin is boring Sean, but in the FD, it is quite challinging to fly up and down in the ITCZ every day. The number of destinations is rising every couple of months. They just announced to start flying to DXB 31st of March.
There are definatly possibilities to change base after a while. Generally PTI has different bases for their different operations, so its hard to tell which ones are available or which ones come up.
About the selection I can´t say a lot as it changed a bit the last years. Its a psychological test, 2 interviews, SIM check.
If you like a low cost ops for a carrier like RYR with 6on/3off, then PTI is definatly the wrong place!! I my eyes its still a very good company with a fantastic bunch of pilots! There is some bitching like everywhere, but thats normal I guess.

SolySombra 11th Feb 2014 16:42

Classic

Looks like the Sim will be on the Classic .
Good Luck !!!

Scott_T 18th Feb 2014 16:18

So did anyone do the assesment? How did it go has anyone heard back etc?

doudou_epl 19th Feb 2014 09:57

Last summer the assessment was on the NG but I believe it depends
on the availabilities at the training center in AMS but wether its the CL or the NG I believe the assessors will take into account your background.

all engines running you'll fly w/o the FD in raw data the SID then few basic manoeuvers and then you can expect to pick a hold over a VOR. They may give you a radial inbound and a L/R turn, 1 min to check situational awareness and how you fly while thinking about your entry, etc...
then vectors for an ILS (15kts xw and OVC 003... the transition from instr to visual can be tricky)
reset; V1 cut off, state malfunction, engine out turn (departure from zurich)
non normal C/L, vectors for ILS and that's it. You may or may not have the FD for the engine out sequence, the day I did the assessment they were hesitating but finally had them.
You do the itw and then the sim or the contrary with two assessors from the training dept, very nice people standard HR questions but be well prepared for the tech part. In the sim again they were very nice and the one acting as the pm will be helpful if required, even if it's an assessment you don't end doing a single pilot one man show.

Psy assessment in Zurich: you do it at the institute of applied psychology which means there are pro so be prepared to be pushed a bit and your defaults and qualities we'll be easy to underline for them...basically they read you like an open book so be honest and positive. No rocket science for the computer based exercises but it's quite a long assessment so fatigue can get on your nerves.
Hope this will help and all the best ;-)

Aru 19th Feb 2014 22:09

Hey guys, could anyone detail a bit the Psy assessment ? Do I need to prepare anything ? I never had to do such a thing except for when I entered flight school. I have the opportunity to do it in a couple days and I don't want to miss it.

Cheers,

MD11Man 22nd Mar 2014 13:35

Does anyone have some detailed info about the technical questions in the interview?

Thanks!

JStone 1st Apr 2014 06:24

Min Requirements

Does anyone know if this company accept 73 First Officers below minimum requirements, I have the required time on type but not the 1000 hours total time?

Alternatively if anyone has a point of contact within the company that would be appreciated.

PM if you prefer.

Cheers

To be operated by Privatair: SAS launches services between Stavanger and Houston

snak 12th Apr 2014 12:14

Hi guys! anybody know the average salary for FOs and requirements for the upgrade?
thanks!

Kestrell820 15th Apr 2014 14:30

Start salary is 54000€ plus per diems etc.
The requirement for an upgrade is 3000hrs TT, depending on the operation a bit more. They are just hiring around 20 FO´s due to the strong expansion in Africa and for the SAS project

fo recruitment

Hi there,
anyone knows tech questions for the interwiew? I received a confirmation about the date of assessment but no details, and you guys?

Bfobpet 20th Apr 2014 22:35

Hi murdock,
I have been there, the technical questions were : what systems are driven by stby hyd sys. Apu usage limitations, elec light on the electrical panel, determination of wet, contaminated rwy, dest altn requirements, what is rnav generally, long range cruise determination. Basically they are very friendly. They are focusing on professional issues and your relation with aviation. They are from the "flieger society". In the sim very correct, the focus on the basic flying skills. I hope I've helped You. Wish youthe best !

despegue 25th Jul 2014 22:40

lookoutbelow 26th Jul 2014 18:11

Pilots Recruitment | PrivatAir | Global leader in business aviation

Looks like they are currently looking for B757 DEC's, short term contract but possible extension, notionally a Geneva base.

Basologie 28th Jul 2014 13:04

I would be interested in net figure aswell. Anyone got any information yet?

FR_A 14th Aug 2014 10:27

FlyTCI 23rd Sep 2014 12:58

I'm sorry, but that is not a very good contract. I am a BBJ FO with a (on paper, not quite the real case atm) 30/30 rotation and making close to double of that salary, and double the per diem. I am surprised that is the best PrivatAir can do. I guess it's a sign of the sad state of aviation in Europe.

I suppose it can be good as a stepping stone and to build experience, but definitely not competitive with most BBJ jobs out there. I hope PrivatAir don't expect people to stick around under those terms.

samca 23rd Sep 2014 13:07

Xolon yes thats exactly what they sent me. I'm not interested in that conditions becouse I have better options. It is really poor contract we are speaking about B737NG pilots, a lot of jobs out there for us.
I'm working right now but looking to improve my Job conditions and of course Privatair with this contract is far away to do it so I don't care this offer and I expect they don't find people that accept It.

Xolon 23rd Sep 2014 22:30

My thoughts exactly and the reason why I kindly rejected the offer. And that while I'm flying for Europe's favorite lowcost (:yuk:).

Note: your not even flying on a BBJ, it's a normal pax configuration wet lease to fly for a Congolese airline.

samca 25th Sep 2014 00:50

It is a SWISS contract, imagine... And also you pay 50% of your health insurance.:ugh:

Little Miss 27th Sep 2014 18:41

Hi, for those of you who are going for the sim assessment. Please brush up on your raw data and manual flying. It really has to be very good if you want to pass the sim. A lot of people are falling over at this hurdle.

Thanks and good luck:ok:

And the tax depends on how many children you have, whether you are married or not and whether your partner works. So it's not a simple dry cut answer.
