Any current CityJet pilots around?

Good afternoon ladies and gentleman,

I am currently going going through the selection for the CityJet cadet scheme, the final interviews are next Wednesday in fact. Naturally I have a quite a few questions regarding the rostering and lifestyle etc within the company and I was wondering if there are any current CityJet pilots around on here at the moment? If so, and you wouldn't mind answering a few questions (I'll keep it concise!), please let me know and I'll send you PM.

I have noticed wildly varying opinions being expressed when I search the previous threads on here so it would be fantastic to hear straight from the horses mouth.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Mike, although I'm not in Cityjet I know someone who is, starting as a selected Cadet though FTE. All I can say, is that the Company has shown commendable commitment to its selected Cadets over the last 2 years or so, (ie after Graduation) during which time the expected vacancies dried up but the guys were not "left to their own devices". (AKA Sink or Swim!) Cityjet did their BEST to look after them, including finding ground-based jobs, helping with Renewal costs, numerous Sim sessions, etc.
Many of these Cadets are now Type Rated and on-line. Sounds like the rosters aren't as busy as, say, the "Low-Cost" carriers though you may travel around a fair amount between Bases (all paid for by them of course!).

All in all, you could do a lot worse, and in this day & age, they outshine many larger Companies in the way they look after their guys.

Best of luck!

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to reply Newgen Jock. That is all music to my ears; the prospect of starting training in just two months is a dream come true so I am terrified of finding something out that may shatter this! I had heard of the commitment which you have described, but is great to hear it from someone impartial. It would seem such loyalty is in short supply these days.

I agree Newgen Jock - I am getting very excited about the scheme and the company.

Cheers mate,

Mike

I read on the website that the Avro is based in LCY, too. any news about roster from that base? Is it similar to DUB? Any other info will be appreciated.
Thx

I asked someone else about basings and heard it was about 50:50 DUB and LCY. DUB has a tiny proportion of direct flights (just CDG, LCY, and Pau?) compared to LCY so I would have thought WX are just as happy to base pilots at LCY as they are DUB. Appreciate most flying is actually done out of CDG.

Does anyone else know how likely/easy it is to get LCY as a base with WX?

Many thanks in advance
