Resignation U-turns In Ryanair?

The latest propaganda from FR management, apparently a lot of guys/gals who have resigned are reconsidering & taking their Cmd's in FR due to the "crisis in the Gulf"........
So as a matter of interest can anyone quantify this eh pathetic notion???
I was unaware Emirates/Ethiad/BA/Virgin/Flydubai/Qatar had relocated to Tripoli.........

BALLSOUT 24th Mar 2011 16:39

Wise descision in my opinion. I've never thought the gulf to be a good bet, but now it just looks like a complete can of worms waiting to explode. I wouldn't consider taking my family anywhere near the place!

jasperyellow 24th Mar 2011 17:25

Anywhere near the place? Really? Tripoli is nearer London than it is Dubai.

Anyway sounds like wishful thinking from Ryanair. Just like the spin they tried to put on in initially that it was only those failing the command upgrades and other ne'er do wells that were leaving.

McBruce 24th Mar 2011 17:29

Indeed, I'm not one whose leaving. The whole Iran/Israel relationship is the one that would stop me for a while. I'll pass until those 2 kiss and make up, which according to both leaders, will be when one of them doesn't exist.

brakedwell 24th Mar 2011 17:38

And it is too bloody hot !

D O Guerrero 24th Mar 2011 17:57

Interesting... Was that in a memo? I didn't see anything.

D O Guerrero 24th Mar 2011 20:36

300 and counting...
A little local difficulty isn't going to change anything.

Horsepowerrr 24th Mar 2011 20:56

If this is true then they are definitely worried, because Ryanair never bothers to send out or make any memo's if they are not seriously worried. Ofcourse there might be some who want to come back, as there always are, but not the numbers that are leaving now. These memo's hardly ever contain the truth. And oh yes Ryanair is a very caring company, but not for things like their pilot workforce or other employees. ;)

So all and all it is a good sign if you ask me. Interesting times ahead for the Ryanair pilots.

These clowns are so full of themselves that they think we are not smart enough to see through their memo's and other propaganda. Latest is that they try to scare people who resign to go to Emirates by telling them that the hours you fly there don't count in Europe and that you will get arrested when you return home because you don't pay tax in Dubai.
Just ignore these s.c.u.m.bags and do whatever suits you best.

The grass is not greener on the other side but at least there is grass.
In Ryanair you play in the mud and now you have the chance to throw it in their face....

Good luck...

How bad are things in Ryanair that the best propaganda that they can muster is "Ryanair - not as bad as an active war zone !"

The mere fact that RYR is even giving credibility to this suggests that lot's of people are leaving! They must be getting desperate! ;)

Go go go go! :ok:

Where did you see this memo?

Croft 25th Mar 2011 02:17

There is no such memo. Load of nonsense.

Mikehotel152 25th Mar 2011 09:00

The Middle East may be the primary destination at the moment but it's worth pointing out to RYR management that there are hundreds of pilots - everyone I've spoken to on the line or overheard in the crewroom over the past few months - who would leave for pretty much any other airline anywhere in Europe if the opportunity were to arise. That's an indication of deep unhappiness that will not be cancelled out by naiive scare stories.

"Unrest unlikely in these regions" Dream on Contacted, sounds a bit like "Peace in our time", do you really think that with all the surounding Sandboxes in flames the UAE and Qatar wont be dragged into it regardless of how loved the leaders are or how happy all the Ex Pats may be? Give your head a shake!

clunckdriver 27th Mar 2011 14:51

Contacted, You are right, it wont be the locals, however the Belgiums and others found out the hard way that even with a policy of neutrality one gets dragged into the fray by dint of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. As they say in real estate, Location, Location , Location! During part of my miss spent youth I lived in a truly peacfull part of the world, its now a war zone and has been for many years.
