RYR management tour bases
 
Word has it that management will (is?) tour bases to meet with pilots on future prospects and of course contract issues.
Some say more paycuts ahead due oil prices, other heard of a 2 to 3% increase but 5/3 roster and so on with more rumors...
Nobody actually knows the dates for these meetings and we all suspect they will announce them only a couple of days before so that we won't be able to attend in numbers and give them a hard time.
Maybe we could post here as things unfold.
In the meanwhile calling people and asking to work on days off is becoming the norm.

There is a thread on going on REPA on this, the main thing is here is that everyone who knows anything inform us all here or on REPA,

Its time for us all to stand up to them!!!
They will undoubtly try to spread fear and paranoia a proven union busting technique ...

But remember its your lifestyle on the line. 5'3 no thanks !!!Stop the rot it will take all of us !

Yes and you must record the burn to the nearest 10kgs!! The gauges are only accurate to within 3% anyway so it's a futile exploit!!

Ah well, people love to feel good about doing something well, although I have lost that feeling.

The fuel league is such bull, if you cheat you may may win it and get your name in the crewroom for everyone to write a take the pi$$ comment on and thats it, if you lose (bottom) you get a letter saying try harder.

What a joke, someone always has to be bottom and someone always has to be top, I just remember the phrase happy pilots burn less fuel! :ok: so where is our happy incentive from the company other than not getting a letter to say try harder.

I guess the base visits will be the normal bullying effort and trying to lower conditions, this company does not have any other mindset so wont be expecting anything else from them at all, its just a question of everyones limit been reached at some point and moving on.

Planes parked up over the summer due lack of crew is a real possibility :ugh:

Dont forget that the """4 YEAR PAY DEAL""" expires at the end of this month! "DEAL" my arse!!! THey will try to force another deal.! :yuk: :yuk:

You know, we all try so hard to stay safe, fly well, etc. YET....i still experience first hand, DUMBASSES (CPS and FOS alike) answering their phone to crew control asking them to work a day on the opposite shift ((due to lack of crew)))!!!!!

WTF :confused: ?!!!????????????? What hope is there??

In the past week, a CP who was on "lates" had his phone on, he was on Late stby starting at 12:00Z. Crew control call him at 07:00z to work an early duty for which there was no CP cover !!!

"Oh yes of course i will" he says to them!!

THERES NO HOPE WITH :mad: like this in the pilot workforce.

Interested to know what your day off payments are for Cpts and FOs. That is prob the sweetner that is eagerly swallowed in order to help out. Although the above case probably didn't result in a sweetner as it was already a duty day.

And most of you have your own seperate company (selfemployed)? Can`t you all gather togheter and form one big ass company "The RYR Pilots", then fire brookfield and increase your bills to RYR, make a stock company and increase your value, by 15 stimulators, control your life and RYR.......hi hi !

Or just join a union....:ugh:

Working day off payment and pay deal
 
In brookfield there is no working day off payment. You get the contract hourly rates regardless of whether it is an off day, standby day, or scheduled working day.
Personally, If there is no other incentive to give up my day off after doing a 50+ hour duty week on minimum rest between duties, I will be sitting at home in front of my open fire with a nice glass of red. Everyone else should do the same.

Also, I thought the 4 year agreement kept being pushed back. They can not end the agreement until the term is up, and as it has been extended and suspended, it must still be binding.
Don't sign anything until you get the full entitlement of the current contract PLUS an additional deal.
There should have been 4 x 2% compound increases (or something like that), so that would mean approx. 9% of the original salary (or something like that). So you need at least that 9% ish increase PLUS a new incentive!!
Also, make sure they get rid of this stupid "2 quarters loss". If they want increments to be linked to company profits, make it "YEAR END LOSSES". I bet Ryanair won't ever make one of those!!

You have only one option, quit or join a union and become an employee. Your contract could just be teminated, your service no longer needed, and your ass set for 3 months of no fly no pay stby.

Will be interesting to see what will happen to the RYR contract pay.

Dublin RYR contract basic pay is currently at €85.000 because the Irish pilots stood together on the matter a couple of years ago. It is said since then management is spreading multiple nationalities over all the bases to erode any form of comradeship between the crew.

Guys I left 4 years ago and this is EXACTLY what was happening then. I still have many friends in FR and NOTHING has changed. RePA hasn't helped BALPA hasn't helped…wake up you need to do something yourselves or you will be reading this again in 4 years shaking your head.

Just my 2 pence worth, for all those who keep touting the "if ye were in a union your **** would smell better" line. There are quite a lot of guys in FR from different parts of the world who in a previous life worked for airlines with strong union representation, these went bust or down sized and they lost their job. I am not saying that both are directly related, but having the experience of having to feed your family while your on protective notice will change your outlook and mind set. Having said all that guys lets get real, you should not accept anything more than a pay increase and better terms and conditions from these "visits". And the best of luck to all involved.

fair point about the guys from "previous companies" but some of those guys could be on a pension from other airlines too.they are here now so we should all stick together.with regard to their "previous company" going bust,well i dont think any of them had €4 billion in the bank with as many pax as ryanair.i read about the deals in dublin a few years back but i think its much bigger this time,it relates to every base(44 or something).to be honest most guys/gals prob only want a fair deal,a bigger cut of the cheese so to speak.its the crew that keep ryanair making money,sales on board and being on time etc,wait for ACARS,will they be still on time???

anybody well up on the new government in ireland?labour will want a union in every company(including ryanair)so hold out until labour come up with a plan,just in case ryanair try get a deal before they get a chance to organise anything in the dail.

if ryanair are short crew then they will have to improve the deal,no choice
but if they are not then it looks like same old story with the deal.who is to know,so how about just for the next 6 months,stick together,stop working days off.highlight the crew shortage and take the ball back from them for the first time in its history.

has ryanair got too big for its shoes??time will tell.MOL has pissed off too many people and there could be a domino effect come summer time.

Another thing I often point out in these discussions. People blame MOL and the sorts for the way Ryanair is today.

But the real root of the issue is never mentioned. The only reason Ryanair is able to operate is because of the amount of contractors they have. The Irish government has known this for years and has done nothing at all to fix this.

See what happens when the Irish government forces Ryanair to enroll 2500 pilots and nearly 8000 cabin crew on an Irish contract and payroll.

The problem is the Irish government was notoriously short-sighted and did nothing at all when times were good and people still referred to Ireland as The Celtic Tiger.

Ryanair is easily fixable if the government would put their mind to it.

1. All personnel involved in the Ryanair operation must be contracted on an Irish Ryanair contract. Their statute should be required to be employee of Ryanair lpc.

2. Force the recognition of at least one union in Ryanair.

3. Contract negotiations are network wide and should only be allowed between Ryanair Management and elected representatives of said unions. At no point in time is management allowed to negotiate contracts individually (The true source of degrading T&C's).

Implement those 3 points and people won't be going anywhere anymore.
