Pegasus B737 t&c?
Does anybody care to share what are conditions at Pegasus. There is an ad in new Flight Int. and all you can find out is that base is in Istanbul.
|
I am out of the country so cant get to a copy of Flight, Could you tell me if the ad is for Captns or FOs?
Many Thanks VG |
VorLoc Green, no worries the job is on www.flightglobal.com in the jobs section. A bit difficult to acess that section from my computer today , but it was in there posted on 28/10.
The ad is only for Capt's, historically most F/O's have been locals. Hope this helps, cheers :ok: |
Thanks for the info!

so.. does someone know the terms and conditions?
salary, per diem, schedule, offdays, vacations etc? thanks |
Hello captainnic,
At the moment Pegasus offers 5900 EUR net plus 25 euro/sector.(average 40sectors/month) plus per diems. So you can count on about 7000+net which isn't bad. I passed their interview in October but decided to go with the airline who first interviewed me after Skyeurope went down. They are recruiting Captains only with 500 hrs LHS. Sim is of a good standard and interview very friendly.Theres a psychometric test and an home made english test...remember..the mother of your grandma is your great grandma rather than your grand grandma:-) even if she weren't that great or if you never met her...:ooh: Many ex skyeurope pilots are going there and only time will tell if they will like it...but it seemed quite a nice outfit..definitively the interviewers were quite nice folks. The contract is for 1,2 or 3 years at your choosing and the low side is the 28 days of holidays are only available after the first year , the roster is 5 ON /2 OFF. Staff tickets for wife and family. They provide transport to and from your flat in istanbul. Hope that helps, regards. |
Heard same from a friend who's friend is turkish captain with Pegasus.
I would like to know if they pay any extra for accomodation to expats, and how much one need to rent a flat (let's say 3 bedroom). English school should bearound 500e per month per child. |
incognito,
didnt hear the magic word:E |
I think he means PLEASE:}
|
Incognito,
Thanks to Aussie, the answer is no, no expat accomodation paid for. nor a dental plan, function car, yearly raise, children school fees...its a contract work..so you fly ,they pay and you go..easy:suspect: BUT they will give you a job long enough for you to jump to some better when the market picks up. Good luck,:) |
skyeuropecapt,
thank you very much for your kind answer. What you said might be truth, but there are some outfits which give hotel room or acommodation allowance. I admit, these are mostly non-european. Also, if one does not have a job, than it's like you said: join and wait for better. But, if you want to move from one job to another, it's good to know if it's worth it. |
Acccomodation
Anybody else going to Pegasus. I am interested in finding a place to live. Anybody have contacts in Istanbul, Asian side?:ok:
|
Boeing737sr
In Istanbul on the Asian side I would recommend the area close to bagdat street and Bostanci. It's a street full of restaurants and a some bars. You also have a long asphalted sea walk if you feel you need to exercise. From here you can easily take a small mini bus (dolmus) to Taksim (city center) or several other places. It's also close to the sea bus station: Bostanci, from where you can go to the European side and Ataturk airport (IST) without being bother by the infamous Istanbul traffic. You will be f***ed by the price if you come as yabanci to look for a flat, and not many agency speak English. Ask someone from pegasus office to help you. If they can't help you I have a number to an English speaking guy. Take a flat without furniture and buy new stuff at IKEA. Because the one with furniture are often way more expensive and the standard of the furniture are often very low. |
Good work Boeing737sr!:ok:
What are the bases for pilots at Pegasus? PPJN also mentions BRU & AMS, is this correct? Good luck finding a nice home! |
Bases
As it seems now the only base available is Istanbul.
But who knows if that might change later on. Rapid expansion going on here.:):) |
Just to revisit this, as they are recruiting again, can anyone who went there last time around confirm,do they really only give the 7 days off a month promised ?
They also say the days off are split 2/2/1/1/1 so no chance at all to go home (if home isn't Istanbul) for 1 year either, as no Leave during 1st year. Any better news than this, did anyone manage to get (say) a 50% / 66% contract for less money, any news of other bases coming up ? This sounds only doable if you are willing to move everything, & everyone in your life, to Istanbul, or become a hermit for 1 year. |
I can confirm that they used to have people in BRU (approximately 1 year ago), but don't know if that is still the case, though it wasn't reccommended by them to stay in BRU as it can be very expensive.
Most cadets stay in the radisson SAS by the pegasus office, capts, long term wise I would look for accommodation, you can probably speak to some letting companies, though they may ripp you off a little. P.S. Radisson do some really nice egg desserts... |
What are the requirements?
I'm a turkish citizen with a fresh fATPL, do you think i have a chance? new national regulations demands 500h MCC for new flight deck crew who are foreigners. |
A turkish citizen with FATPL, maybe you should apply for there cadet course, though it'll set you back some money for the TR and line hours. Or there are alot of other low cost turkish carriers out there like sky airlines who may be recruiting...

Heard a rumour that the 7 days off in a month could now be taken in one block instead of 2/2/1/1/1.
Just a rumour, and of course they have to stick to it, but if they manage that it will surely widen the appeal to include those who don't want to move families to Istanbul. Like Turkish Airlines , who offer the same non-commuting roster on the 737, they would have more interest if they actually managed to arrange for peeps to go home. 20 days work is more than enough to do 100hr block time, why not give 10 days free and at least you could have 8 days home. Not everyone wants to move their families that far SE in "Europe" ;) |
