Hours threshold - Fixed or room for manoeuvre?
 

Just wanted to know with companies such as Qatar hiring now, how fixed in stone (or not) are the hours requirements they state?

So starting this thread for people to post if they did or know of colleagues/friends who have been hired and their total time and total on type at time of joining.

I'll list them all on this first post. The main reason is to find out if some airlines are worth a punt or if its non negotiable, therefore save your money, hope and expectation.

Gain experience in Europe if you can..
however you do it ..
then make the choice,

But not out of desperation .

Teddy, can you elaborate on that a little? I don't think I have the hours to go there, but if I did, what are the usual down-sides apart from very little skiing going on down there?

I used Qatar as a ficticious example, this thread is designed to cover all airlines no matter where they are based. It is to find out how stringently HR departments adhere to whats written in the job specs.

One look at PPJN tells you that there aren't too many jobs anywhere, let alone Europe. At present there are too many mid houred pilots who are barred from cadet schemes and are in the twilight zone below airline hiring thresholds.

They may have mortgages and families to support and after spending the best part of the contents of Noel Edmonds boxes on training, it would be remiss not to follow up every avenue rather than to sit around and wait for things to upturn.

I would have thought an opportunity to gain experience and attain a reasonable income (probably tax free) would have been jumped on by many.
