Lufthansa FTL

Looking for Lufthansa FTL. That is NOT the OM chapter 7 which contains EU OPS limitations only. But the company set limitations. It appears that they are spread out in different manuals and papers. Anyone prepared to share some info?

Try to get a copy of the Manteltarifvertrag, it should contain quite a bit about their FTL as well as it is the union contract with the company about such matters.

As @Denti says it's mostly contained in a written contract with the union which is published in german only and won't be easy to read for those unfamiliar with the language.

Additionally and especially for L/R ops there might be further reglulations concerning crew complement, rest times enroute and at the homebase that are negotiated within the company (i.e. not with the union) and established for each flight plan period an not normally published in written.

Are you interested in any special aspect in depth or more in the regulations in general?

Feel free to PM if you need info on the Regional MTV (Manteltarifvertrag). These are negotiated on a per company basis and augment the EU Ops with things like a maximum 5 day week, 10 off per month and 800 legs per year, 90 hrs per month etc.

Best of all 140hrs duty per month (50 hrs less than the EU Ops minimum!) :-).

Thanks for the replies. Actualy I do have the current Lufthansa MTV at hand. But there must be a number of sideletters and amendments to that. Furthermore, I can not imagine that the crews carry this contract along on their flights to check on their individual current limitations. So is there a working paper, amongst the OM A chapter 7, where all the currently valid limitations and definitions can be found? As I intend to go rather deep into the details at the Lufthansa duty regulations I look for any document that can be helpful for that. If necessary PM me, discretion is 100% guaranteed.

@KT thanks for the offer, but regional is not in my focus.

There is a computer transaction which prints out all applicable duty and rest-time limitations according to EU-OPS and MTV for any rotation/tour of duty. These numbers are also contained in the printout of the monthly roster.

Basically it's all in the MTV except for some special rest-regulations after selected L/R-flights which basically allow to reduced resttime enroute from 48 hrs to 24 hrs and increasing the number of days off after returning to base as compensation.

What are you on - Some kind of benchmark? Do you understand German? Suggest PM or eMail for further questions...

Thats a great idea, my company uses Lufthansas flight plan program having that info would save a load of digging around in various manuals on the (probably very long) day!
