AF IB LH BA job contracts
 

Hi to everyone.
I'm a 767 AZ pilot looking for the job contracts of AF, IB, LH, BA.
I'd like to make a comparison to see if we really get 30-32% less than the european major airline average, like our syndacates say.
If you don't have those contracts but you know how much they get please let me know.
I'm a 767 F/O, joined AZ in 1997, and get 4700 for about 70 hrs/month all inclusive also meals.

You cannot compare salaries from an airline which never made money the last years, with a major with hundreds of planes in their fleet, firmly established routes, big home market, embedded in a big alliance, making profits every year aso.

You have to compare it with an airline like SAS, AUA or the like, who are smaller majors and have also to struggle to survive.

It's not the unions who can decide how much you get, it's the market that is able to give you the money. Otherwise you get into trouble with the market - and the market is always stronger, even stronger than Berlusconi...

From what I heard from a friend of mine at AF, he's making 7000 euros as an A320 F/O and 75 hours a month. A long-haul F/O makes more, around 9 to 10000 and 80 hours. How the hell didn't you guys sign the AF deal ???? (not meaning you'd get the same salaries as these would have remained two separate companies but you'd have got closer over time).

Yes that's the net figure, before tax. Not too sure how much is given away in taxes...

I think 4700 euros on 767s is very low though..

A friend at AF mentionned the same numbers as the one posted above.

And it is before tax, but he mentioned basic salary is lower, round 6000 euros for 65 hours but as they were short of crews everyone was flying more, hence the higher numbers.

However AF only pays 2500 euros a month during your training and line intro.

As for the tax, their unions have negociated some agreement with the french government. My mate is married two kids and only paid (according to his statement) 3000 euros for last year. He-s not from Marseille :)

This should however change soon with Mr Sarkozy at the controlls (my mate said).

And indeed, refusing the AF-KLM deal from the AZ union is the craziest thing they did !

It's easy to criticize sm1's union, but I bet not all pilots would agree with the decision anyway. Besides, who knows what the proposal was??? Ask Varig colleagues about those buyout and throw out deals! If the company is not profitable, better stop it timely, than to leave the bill to the taxpayers, and then complain about the tax...

You re right TOFFAIR, but what is better at the end ?

A deal whatever it is, and keep on flying waiting for better times, or loose your job, specially now when the market is very low again !!!

Ask the Swissair and Crossair guys when they were grounded and that almost everyone was sacked..

It was post 9/11 and some never made it back in a flight deck !

Numbers quoted for AF are about right....

Apart from the very senior guys in BA and LH, AF's flightcrew are the highest paid in Europe....And previously they got to keep a large percentage of their gross because of a rather special tax law here for flightcrew...Something which dated back quite a few years when AF was still wholly state owned and was a typical French Industrial Relations compromise - no salary increase but a reduced personal tax bill....

However, Pshyco Sarko has recently cancelled this particular tax law and both local flightcrews and the many BA/VS and freelance flightcrews who have elected for French tax residency will have considerably higher personal tax bills from 2009 onwards...
