Exceedingly Rude

I believe it is exceedingly rude the way that some airlines today do not notify highly qualified pilots who are not accepted for an advertised job. The pilot is left in limbo, wondering if the selection process has finished. Given that it costs nothing to send an email I cannot understand the lack of courtesy and decency.

We want our children to grow up in a caring and courteous world. In the past it was mainly criminals who acted against the interests of society. Increasingly today it is the corporate world.

In the 'good old days' a company would have paid the cost of individually typed letters plus postage to notify unsuccessful applicants.

I hear Aer Lingus did this over the BFS recruitment. I agree..seriously bad form (especially from a one time 'National Carrier')

I agree wholeheartedly but I'm afraid it's symptomatic of today's increasingly valueless(good that is!) society..............:(

It is also a good indication of how they value and treat staff. Potential or otherwise.

Crews also have long memories.

Sad Reflection of the times

Sadly this failure to notify candidates is not unique to pilots.

I went for an interview, was never contacted or notifed about the outcome, despite meeting the MD and being interviewed by the sales director.

Sixth months later working at an airport, I spotted the company in question on our suppliers list, made sure that they where dropped from our list and they still to this day I guess are trying to figure out why they nolonger get our business.
