At FR in the UK with a Brookfield Contract.

Anyone working for Ryanair under brookfield mind anwering few questions I have.

- Do you get paid in Euro or sterling?
- As a Self employed pilot how do you pay tax in the UK when your pay comes from Ireland? (excuse my ignorance in tax matters)
-If you got a loan for your TR are you able to use it as "expenses"?

would be interested to hear from other european pilots too.

cheers

Hi Captain,

just quick reply:

-Get paid in Euro
-Tax paid in retrospect about 18 months after going Brookfields (for me anyways)
-I have no loans but you can offset VAT paid on TR I believe...will tell you in Jan 2009 if I was successfull!

Just for the record, I'm UK based, and get paid in Euros in Eire, and have to transfer every month. (has been talking anything upto 10 days to transfer!)

Why not send a copy of your contract to BALPA for perusal? You may find that for "brookfield" you should just insert "ryanair" and of course that has major implications.

that will only work if the original poster is a BALPA member of course..;)

If you are a Brookfield Contract pilot at FR, the only safe option is to get a good accountant and make sure you are up to date with your tax liability.

Hi there,

Indeed this is a very interesting post, just wondering if anyone out there in pprune land can shed some light on the current pay situation with the Brookfield contract as i'm about to shed E29000 on the TR! The reason i ask is i'm yet to recieve my contract.

It is my understanding that during line training salary is E1350 with no sector pay, after successful completion it's E60 - training fee to 500hrs - is this 500 hours on the 738??? After 500hrs it's increased to E80- training fee and this once again increases ever so slightly after passing the golden 1500hrs.

I just wander what the approximate take home pay after one has deducted tax is for a cadet??

Merry Christmas,

JJ:ok:

Unfortuately they keep you on that trainning contract for aslong as they (6ish months) can so it doesnt matter when u finish your line trainning.

Absolute hor**** Nicolas. I was done in under 10 weeks and onto full contract two weeks after that!

If you're going to type something about RYR at least have some truth!
