CityJet Conditions

Hi, can anybody out there give me any idea what it is like to work at City Jet as a first officer?
Rostering, Pay, How many hours a month/ year, company culture, you know, the usual kind of stuff. Is it an enjoyable place to work?

Cheers, any info mucho appreciated.

I'm in line trainning as F/O , the course is payed by the company bond for 3 years.
The course is great and not to hard, all the people are very nice, money is good, all news crews are london city based now.
For the moment it's a bit busy for the trainninng dptr because we are a lot of trainnees in the loop it's still nice as the first job like me.
The only one big problem seems to be the roster, your days off never change but they change your flights all the time so you never know where you gonna go the day after ! I hope is just fir the line trainning !
You flight as 5 on 2 off, or 6 on 3 off
Even that I think it's good to be in cityjet and you can get good opportunity to swap seat after a couples of years !
good luck

So basically, if ur days off are say Mon and Tuesday then they stay like that? ie you could never get a day off on a week end? Thats crap.

Working out of LCY is great because it shuts at the weekend lunchtimes, so it isn't that bad, and don't forget you may be on standby for some of the week. Working for a TP operator, I too want to possibly transition to CityJet. I hear the starting pay is low, but the sector pay is very good (mostly tax free).
You would never, in any airline get the same days off. They have to comply with the CAP regarding days off after 5 earlys and starting a late after an early etc...You will not get 2 days off i a row every week. Do the Irish laws on crewing hours differ from UK???
What is the min rest period (12hrs)?

Just seen a picture in a local paper of two cityjet pilots, they are listed as third officers. Is it a misprint or is this for real.

Can someone provide the current starting salaries for both seats and current rates of duty pay.
And yes I have looked on ppjn but the figures are from 2005.

I too would be really interested to see the terms that are on offer if anybody is willing to provide them :)

LCY Base

Can someone talk more about the LCY base. How many pilots are based there? What are the "typical" overnights for LCY crews (DUB, CDG, Zurich)?

And a more pragmatic question for those who are not from London - where do LCY-based newbies tend to live? Is the area around LCY pretty expensive?

Cheers

The East End isn't the best place to live.
Anty where on the M11, A10, A1(M) is good enough to get to LCY from 30min-1hr.
Essex, Herts is the norm.
A12 and A13 can be really busy in the morning.
