Region Air Pte. Questions...

I was wondering if anybody with first hand experience with this outfit could shed some light on their recently advertised Captain opportunities.I think I am qualified to apply for an A321 Command but wanted to get some background info prior to contacting them.

Thanks in advance and appologies if there is info archived somewhere, I can't find a thing here on PPRUNE.

Office based in SIN. Big Property owners in SIN & Asia. 13 Acft on Seychelles register so have to pass Seychelles Air Law cse which they organise, BUT pay is US$4500 for 321 Capt. Acft based in Yangoon - what do you do during time off? Its lights out in Yangoon after 2000hrs. Second 321 on order to be based in Vietnam. A little more social life but not much. Yangoon - no internet & tel cost US$5 /min. Roster is 6wks on 2wks off. Company motto "no drink, no drugs, no women". Yo'all have a nice day now.

Hi 330 drvr

The word that I hear is that you would have to be really desperate to work for Regionair. They do not honour their contracts and should you leave with money owed then"no correspondence will be entered into."

The latest story told is that Regionair decided to move their A310 pilots into a mini hotel in Saigon. They all (a dozen crews I think) politely declined to move, quoting their contract provisions for suitable accommodation. One Australian captain was busy arranging to pay out of his own pocket for his own place but was sacked out of hand. Another Australian was sacked a couple of weeks later. Nothing personal, the guys say, they just picked a couple at random to encourage the rest. Should you wish to contact any of the remainder, look in the nearest backpacker to the airport

You are absolutely right. I was there before and I know most of the guys who are still flying the A310 for Region Air. For those interested in going, beware. They put out ads in magazines and when you get there, they'll get you into going for less money and less something else as well. Talking about money, they still owe my last pay cheque that I'll never see. If you're desperate, go but learn a few tricks on how to screw them, otherwise you'll get shafted. They're crooks, real ones. Al and Raj sure are smooth talkers, so beware.
By the way, the pilots' latest accomodation is not a mini hotel, it's a hole.
Happy landings.

They owe me a lot of money as well.

Are you telling me that by me putting US$10000 per month as expected Salary, I may not be on their shortlist for an interview?
