Ryanair DEC pay terms and conditions...
 
Having searched here without success, I wonder if perhaps someone could satisfy my curiosity as to the pay, and an idea of the Ts&Cs on offer to DECs at the moment - with regard to UK bases.

If you sign up with Brookfield, you'll get Euro 138,50 per scehduled block hour + Euro 20 psbh, when out of base. 1 whole month off + 10 days ad hoc. Expect around 800-900 hours per year. Tax at own discretion :E

3 k per month take home basic

sector cheque avarages 1.2k to 1.7 k per month take home.

The exact figures vary from base to base,

In short though, the "High Pay Airline" are telling lies.

There in no loss of licence insurance. No pension.

You have to pay for all food and water, uniform, car parking, medical and if you go on to a Brookfield contract you even have to pay for your sim check.

Don't come here. It's a horrible place to work, that's why 15% of my base have resigned in the last 3 months

Thank you for the information. Do I understand that some folk are on contracts through Brookfield and some are employed direct?

May I ask, specifically, why you say "it's a horrible place to work"?

And would anyone else care to cast a different shadow on things?

I tend to avoid that sort of thing, and would prefer to have sensible reasoned dialogue with intelligent folk who aren't hiding behind net identities so that they can abuse each other without consequence... Get the picture?

I have heard that Brookfield has increased the captains and fo pay by 20 euro per hour!!!!!!!!!!! they must be desperate for pilots

Kit,

I do not work for FR but I know some that have. There are numerous threads on here about life in FR. You are correct when you say some people have an axe to grind but it does appear that crews at FR are treated with contempt and "management" rule with a "tow the line or else" attitude - not great in an airline.

I'm curious as to what attracts you to FR in particular. That's a genuine question by the way not a sarcastic one.

A4, Thanks for your response... I'm not, as you put it, 'attracted' there or elsewhere, but am just dipping a toe into the water, so to speak. As a current B737 commander (amongst other things), I'm wondering what the options are...

If you are a Captain and based at home it is a good job. You get to fly well maintained / new aeroplanes with a good bunch of F/Os to some interesting destinations. Roster is reasonably stable and although sometimes you work long days it is not like flying through the night and being absolutly exhausted at the end of the week. I have not intention of leaving.
On the other hand of you are RHS and commuting home on your days off then it,s totally different. :)

As a captain the company is good money wise.
A UK cpt takes home somwhere around £5000 per month depending on the amount of flying. Bare in mind that you pay for everything. No pension, no LOL , pay for acommodation when in the sim etc.

As an F/O the situation is **** mostly due to the amount of flying which = little money. More over, everythinh administrative is mostly crap. Applying for annual leave is just horrible...

If you're a captain looking for money solely then by all means go with FR...but do consider it veeeery carefuly...

It used to be around £5000 net for captain it is not anoymore..P60 for this year said just short of £82000 and that is including £7000 for linetraining.

Two questions spring to mind...

I presume you mean that the pay is now less; if so, why?

£7000 for line training... I don't understand this; are you a LTC and this is you training pay?

yes ltc so for line training..Pay is less because of sector pay system. They fix the days so you do just short of the next bracket for sector pay..Eg For a 7 hour day(block hours) you get £185..But they make sure the day is only 6 hours 55 min therefor they pay you £130.. They have sometimes done this by changing turnaround times for standard 25 min to 30 min and then taken the 5 min of the blocktimes

Kit the reason it is horrible is because of:
1. Management attitudes to employees.
a. They use a blame culture (witness the recent article in Flight International about the risk of sacking vs incidence of unstable approaches),
b. have a feral approach to management / employee relations which consists of management say employees do with feedback neither asked for nor accepted,
c. they cut pay and conditions as a muscle flexing demonstration of their power over employees. Profits up enormously this year Ryanair employees lose their tax concessions.
2. Working conditions.
a. You pay for everything,
b. 5 four sector days out of an early start into places like Londonderry, La Rochelle and Carcasonne takes it out of a body,
c. Nothing works in the crew room, some days you need to try at least three computers just to find one that will print/display/have toner. Photocopied Jeppesen plates that do not show any relief,trip kits not available and a walk to an aircraft sometimes parked ten minutes away through the pouring rain. This with a 45 minute report for a 12 hour four sector day.
Trust me, take all your type ratings and go somewhere where they will be appreciated. This could be a lovely place to work, shiny new machinery, interesting destinations, keen new FOs but the management desire to continue to 'make their point' becomes a little wearing after a very short time. Good luck with whatever you choose to do, by coming here you feed the machine which, it could be argued, ultimately results in worse terms and conditions for pilots worldwide.

Leftheadingnorth dont you realise that the items you mention above which have to be paid for yourself decrease your salary in real terms by around £1000[at least]a month.So £5000 becomes £4000 in reality !!! You just dont get it do you!! The really sad thing is, it is short sighted viewpoints like yours which are contributing to the further disentegration of terms and conditions not only in RYR but also the rest of the industry. Wake up.
