Ryan Air or Etihad ??????
 

Hi – I got job offer from both.
I know – two very different company’s and two very different ways of lifestyle.
Any comments good or bad will be appreciated.

Tied up or kids - ryanair(but you will suffer!)

I would go for Etihad as well. New rating, better career opportunities next time round. You can always still go to Ryanair.

Go to the sandpit. You'll pick up an excellent type rating, have great fun and see parts of the world that you never will with FR. Then, when you get fed up with the heat, come back to Europe and join Ryanair!

Or do exactly as the Count has said but with a bit of luck with the ratings and experience you'll pick up when you get bored of the sandpit you won't have to join Ryanair when you come back.
I have friends in both companies and unless you're allergic to sand or particularly want to sell your soul it's a no brainer.

Just one thing. I mainly look for family life now. Like spending time with the kids. Might sound funny for some of the young guys out there at the beginning of a very exiting career. But I personally don’t care much about type ratings and new aero planes anymore. Want to spend good time now !!!

Well, I'd say the benefit of sleeping in your own bed etc if you join Ryanair, is only applicable IF you get the base you want. It can be great for some, but trust me, there are lots of guys commuting on a 5/3 roster. Not particularly convenient..Good luck!

I'd go to Etihad..B777 and A330/A340 or B737-800? Definetaly B777.

If family life is important, stay away from the Ryans. You'll end up so unhappy you'll not spend quality time with the kids. Until the current management team have left, avoid it at all costs. Go enjoy the sunshine. If you have kids, head to the sand and enjoy it. You will never regret not working for Ryanair. And it'll only ever get worse there.

If you take the time to read all the threads that have been written in the past few years about RYR, then you will see it is a 'no brainer' as our cousins would say.
Sell your soul and dump your self respect at the door if you come to RYR.

Abu Dhabi is Lovely
 

I'm surprised you are even asking- O'leary is the DEVIL :eek:

Abu Dhabi is a great place, more refined than Dubai, but growing rapidly. Etihad will look after you and your family, and educate your children!
It is VERY hot from about the start of March through to the end of November with and from June is very humid too (but everywhere is well air conditioned).

the UAE are pretty liberal states too- and there is a thriving expat community.
