SilverJet

Hi - I have been invited to SilverJet HQ in March - applied as Co-pilot. Already rated with good experience on B762. Anyone all ready there willing to give details - all the usuals. roster, days off, salary etc.
I see they are looking for Captains as well - any future internal promotion ?
Thanks. Twin2040

yeah, lets hear :D

Interesting outfit..

Riker 10th Feb 2007 01:10

No disrespect, but would that type of flying not get a bit boring after awhile? Flying from Luton to ultimately 3-4 North American destinations over and over again? Sounds to me like that could get exhausting if you do 1-2 trips over the pond per week. Just my opinion.

Good luck to you!

Twin2040 10th Feb 2007 03:53

Thanks Riker - any others !

Twin2040 10th Feb 2007 03:59

And by the way - got an confirmed offer from other company, also yesterday - so I will do lots of different routes anyway.
1 invitation + 1 positive reply from previous done interview - on same day.
Good luck to all others jobhunters !!!

Brian Fantana 10th Feb 2007 15:04

Riker 3-4 U.S.A destinations at first but they could be the tip of the iceberg, if those routes do well whose to say Silverjet wont be expanding their route network. Even at this early stage I have heard rumours of South Africa and Dubia - hearsay I know but watch this space I suppose.

Could we make this a thread about pilots conditions in Silverjet? Seems like quite a few pilots will be joining soon if they are to operate as advertized :ok:

Think of the poor old concorde pilots, LHR-JFK everyday, how boring.

UP and Down Operator 11th Feb 2007 21:04

The Concorde might have been fun the first 10 times, but doubt it was very interesting to fly the same route everyday after that. Everyone having done repetitive flights on other than flightsim would probably agree in that :hmm:

However, Silverjet might grow into someting big and interesting. After all, they just dropped the diapers and seems to be on the right track already :ok:

Permafrost_ATPL 13th Feb 2007 11:36

I can't answer any of your questions but I happened to be at Alteon (sim check) while Silverjet were running cabin crew training (Dec 06). They looked so gorgeous, I seriously considered moving from Orange to Silver!

Surely that's useful information:ok:

Have heard that Cabin crew have had a payrise on their basic pay and flight pay now gone upto £2.75 per/hr.
Could any F/O's out there working for them advise me of the starting basic salary and if there are annual increments in place.
Thanks.

T&C's

Try the Flyjet website, supposed to be the same!!!!
35:oh:

Brian Fantana 25th Mar 2007 21:44

Yeah thanks NATO35 I realise they are both the same company now.
I have looked on both their websites and there is nothing about basic salary, increments, or any other terms and conditions for f/o's which is why I asked the question on here.
Anyone else?

Nato 35 25th Mar 2007 22:02

PPJN or IPA?IPF

35:suspect:

Brian Fantana 26th Mar 2007 09:25

NATO 35 thanks but I'm ahead of you on those ones too.
Have tried both sights flyjet info on ppjn is 2005 cant find silverjet on ppjn. The info from the ipa is 2006, although does imply they have an increment system(Good news)
The alledged payrise I have heard of through the grape vine is this year so I wanted more upto date info.
Cheers.

Fly4Fun 28th Mar 2007 12:25

Hi
Do you know if they recruit non type rated captains?
If yes, do you know the minimums?
If not, will they do it in the future?

Many thanks.
Happy landings

Telstar 28th Mar 2007 18:46

Fly4fun

I got a polite e-mail response to my C.V submital. Seems they are looking for type rated people, but they offered to keep me on file for what that migt or might not be worth!
