EASYJET FO TAKE HOME PAY(AFTER PAYRISE)
 
Hi all,

Probably already asked but cannot find anything, so keep those side arms where they are!!

What is the new take home pay for a new joiner at Easyjet? (First officer with full ATPL).

The pay rise hasn't actually taken effect yet so any figures on take home just now would be a rough guess. The new salaries will take effect from 1st of June, however Junes' payslip will also include backpay back dated to Oct 05 when this pay deal takes effect from so the first "realistic" pay slip wont hit the door mats until the end of July.

But another thing for you to consider, you say you are looking for info on FO pay with full ATPL? The more important issue is wether you are type rated or not. As this is what will make the biggest impact on your take home pay. Despite the rumours, if you are not type rated (A320 family or 737) you are more than likely to be offered the TRSS scheme. Also if your ATPL is unfrozen, which is what I think you mean by a "full ATPL" you would join as an SFO, which again makes a big difference to take home pay when compared with the FO rank.

That being the case, an SFO's basic who is on the TRSS scheme after the pay deal is just shy of £40k, but they do take 5% of that off you for the first 6 months to cover their costs ( it is expensive to take £23K off a person you know). Depending where you are based sector pay could add another £4k - £6K on top of basic. No doubt some other orange drivers will dissagree with me on that but is just a rough guesstimate.

And finally your TRSS loan repayments are on top of all that each month and are of course not subject to tax.

If you are type rated, simply add £5K to the above basic figure for direct entry as oppposed to TRSS.

I've just started with EJ and wont have a full months sector pay until the end of next month, I think around £750 per month before tax wont be far off the mark.

And your on 90% of your basic salary for the first six months, and you wont get paid until you have passed the type rating course if your TRSS, six weeks without salary is the best part of another £4000 on top of the £23,000

Ouch it finantially hurts!!

It is obvious why easyJet can't get enough people.... they insist on paying 90% pay for six months to people like me who have load of A320 hours and are current on type.

Plus the pay is sh1t in the first place.

What a crappy recruitment idea, everyone knows pilots are only interested in one thing. MONEY.:bored: :confused: :uhoh:

Sorry, didn't make it plain enough.

I didn't sign on the dotted line. I work for another UK Airbus carrier with little prospect of command for a million years.

My comment is aimed at why EZY think they should pay someone like me, rated, current and with lots of type hours 90% pay.

It's a joke when they need people.

You say no command prospects at your outfit, would you not be willing to trade for better command prospects at easy?

The bottom line is it doesn't sound like your going to apply so who cares?

No, I won't apply, because the terms are sh1te.

That's the whole point, easy make a living out of mugs applying to them who are prepared to pay for ratings, TRSS etc etc.

I have a rating that they are desperate for, am current on it and experienced on it and other large jets.

Yet, they think I should be docked £4000 for my initial sim?

It's bollox and the more people who accept therms like this actually erode the whole industry.

How long before easy say that it's 80% pay for the first six months?

I hope you understand my point. I would never accept lowered terms, b ecause it harms everyone. But lots of people will because they are shortsighted and daft.:mad:

Because they borrowed more than they could afford, based on dreams sold to them by FTO's who convinced them that spending more money would get then a shiney jet job with 250hrs:hmm:

I have over 3000 jet hours, B757,A320 and A330.

I have got seniority in an established UK airline. I have a final salary pension scheme. I have loss of licence (more than easy offer) and Permanent Health Insurance. I get the leave I want and fly a mix of long and short haul.

I fly no more than 650 hours a year. I get paid over £50000. I have around 10 days off a month and spend 16 days a month at home when on long haul. On short haul I do 2 sector days and go home. And our airline makes money.

I have not passed up early command by not accepting a £10000 a year pay cut, just ask easy SFO's who are being passed over currently in favour of DEC's. That will never happen in my company. We saw to that earlier this year when management tried it. We have an effective BALPA union.



So, if I am a looser (what is that by the way?).... do you mean loser?........how many of the above benefits do you have?

You are the loser. Jerks like you endanger the industry for all of us.

Put it right today.


N.B. the whole reason for my comments is that easyJet is a big rip off. You are all professionals, so why prostitute yourself?

Easy for you to call people shortsighted and daft when you are sitting pretty with currency and experience on type. Many don't have the luxury of your position. If you have debts to service from training then you take the first job you can get. Are you seriously suggesting an unemployed pilot should refuse their opportunity to get on the ladder at somewhere like easy to preserve the terms and conditions of those already fortunate to have airline jobs?

I agree with you that easy TRSS and its like are dragging industry T&Cs down, but it has bugger all to do with the people taking these jobs via such schemes. It has everything to do with A*sehole management who will gladly screw their mother over to make sure they get their maximum yearly bonus.

So blame them.

Exactly. For a great many people easyjet is just a means to an end. What else are people supposed to do? Sit around at their turboprop job earning much less than an easyjet FO and wait for the magic of market forces to bring us all better T's and C's? Meanwhile others take the admitably crappy TRSS offer and springboard ahead in their careers? That's just shooting yourself in the foot.

If people don't want companies like easyjet to drag down the T's and C's in the rest of the industry they should firstly make sure they join whichever union represents the company they do work for and then make sure they pay close attention to their own company's affairs.

I, on the other hand, am taking home 130% of what you gross-and I choose what, where and how my money is invested.

Listen Stan-I'll give you this for free. The bit between being born and when your family collect your coverted benefits is called life-you only have 10 days a month(yes I'm sorry Stan-got you on that one as well-12) to enjoy it. Hours I do 900-but I see my kids every day-so thats cool. And I feel OK.

Face it, with that many hours-you should be doing better than you are.

Keep your ill informed comments to yourself Nice touch:yuk: despite what you THINK you know, there are certain companies with strong reprsentation who's members will never allow this to happen (unlike pikeyair and big orange) so much so in fact it states it on the company website.

130% eh? so your an F/O on £65k? well you imply your an F/O..but even BA wont pay you that until your in for about 4-5yrs in the right seat.

Face it touch, you sound full of it..back up what your saying with some credibility.. i.e.

Who you work for
What fleet
And for how long

Then and only then will I believe what you earn as an F/O.

Oh yeah one more thing, dont judge others by your own seemingly dubious double standards:=
