Easy Hold pool
 
Does anyone with very recent (last few weeks) experience of going through the Easy process, know the approx swimming time in the Easy hold pool - if there is one ?

If not, when are courses being scheduled for either the Bus or Boeing ?

Could someone also answer whether they are recruiting for all bases or just a select few ?

Hi there I've posted this a number of times before but gonna do it again as it's beginning to bug me. Eayjet seem to be in a mess with their recruitment process at the moment. I've been in an interview hold pool since december and all they say is there are backlogs.:{

Hope you don't have to wait too long, but I would say don't put all your eggs in one basket:ok:

I know how and why things are the way they are....

MS, PT and the people "with the big picture" have "saved" money by making sure we are not getting paid at the rates we should, making sure we work our a** off, making sure to run people out of hours just in time for the summer, making sure to p*** off people as much as they can by having a leave system that is c**p and a pansion that is *****!!

This in turn has led to FOs leaving, CPs leaving and TRI/TREs leaving.... I think the number is around 340 at the moment....
This all happens when the pilot market is at its highest in years, leading to:

Not enought qualified pilots applying.
When people apply, they are, most of the time, low experienced...This requires more line training, thus more TRI hours....TRI hours that we do not have!!
Now we work even more. The leave system "releases" less days as days available for booking leave. Later this summer we will have even bigger difficulties covering the summer flights....

In desperation, the company is now asking to buy back leave days at a p*** rate, this showes how bad things are.....

A guy at STN has been waiting to start his line training for weeks. He's a CTC cadet and because he needs more sectors he keeps going to the bottom of the queue as they slip experienced guys in front of him.

This situation is entirely due to lack of trainers - 12 TREs have resigned in the last 12 months; those that remain are being worked to breaking point.

These guys are all right, TRI/TREs all tied up busy and at least another one leaving or very recently left. There are loads of guys going through CTC, infact i heard they are doing very little else but Easy at the moment, Easy pilots still converting from 737 to the Bus all ties up the trainers and the courses available. If you have been accepted from interview I would think they'll want you asap, when i joined they only had course dates for 3 months ahead so it may be that you are waiting on course allocations. Gatwick base is most likely, very short of pilots there, but they do try to send you where you want to go. Someone i know given LGW hasn't even started the course and got a transfer to another base he did want.

Good luck, it's hard work but good fun.

Lets not let the truth get in the way of a good rumour, but the actual number of trainers that have left due to reasons that are not 'medical' related is 5.

Some of those resignations I believe were for personal reasons.

The trainers are working very hard, but I understand that the Training Manager on the Airbus is sourcing additional trainers to ease the training burden.

As for recruitment, I have no idea, but I will ask a friend that might have some inside information.

A good try but this is an outright lie. A simple count would prove your statement totally inaccurate. PM me if you want the list. Why would you try to reduce the number to 5 unless you are trying to impress the management with your willingness to do their job for them, (if they knew who you are) or you were simply spreading lies.
After all, that is what the CTC tried to do at a Trainers meeting several months ago when he told them he had 29 leavers, but my correct list showed nearly 100!! And that is why I compiled the list, to prevent the truth being distorted.
The number is 12, one of these is retirement who will still work for us p/t in a non checking role and another who lost his medical.
The number of leavers since 2002 is exactly 340, with a big surge expected when the next Virgin course is announced.
The above posts are correct in stating the TRE's are being worked to death and that cadets and others are facing long delays in getting started due trainer shortages.
The management have tried several times to recruit direct entry TRE's, most recently about a year ago, and got nobody. Why would they fare better now that:
1)The emeployement market is far more bouyant than then, and
2) Everybody knows they would also be worked to death!!!
3) They will risk upsetting pilots who have served the airline for years but get passed over for lucrative Training slots, may cause even more to leave!!!

Thanks for the info concerning the exodus at Easy. Particularly TRE/TRIs. I sympathise whole-heartedly with the training situation,,,,,,,At a rough guess its probably the same or worse at a number of airlines bar perhaps BA and Virgin throughout the UK. I would also hazard a guess that for some airlines, trying to get enough trained staff for the summer season (Started already if truth be told) will be nigh on impossible and will lead to more and more cancelled flights due lack of trained staff.

BUT - could i have a few more comments more relevant to the exact questions I was asking in the first place at the top of the thread..... much obliged

As one of the TRE's that have recently left, I can assure it was not for medical reasons that I took the decision, but "medical" may well have become the reason if I had continued working as I was.

I left because I was fed up with continual "economies of truthfullness" and greed which have become the normal management style (in my opinion) at easyJet.

I can also say that many of my colleagues who left at or about the same time as me, told me they thought the same way.

As many have said over the years Easy should / could be one of the best flying jobs in Europe, but.... until there is a change in the management it can never be. Anybody considering going there should think very very carefully, I think.

Muzza, just out of interest..(not connected with the big orange in anyway..except running into a few TRI/TRE's at Alteon Luton) where have you guys migrated too? or is it the case of getting out rather than do anything else?

Witness the great orange fiasco. All directly attributed to a few very gready characters who continue to claim that all is well when faced with 10+ guys a month leaving, new recruits waiting weeks for base training and a command pool which is now all but empty. Now they are cancelling flights during the summer but not due lack of crew. They are doing us a favour, cutting us slack to improve our lifestyle :D But do they pay the going rate for buying back leave? hell no, mangers now have to fly and they'd rather subcharter :ugh: .
As for recruitment, they are supposedly scaling back for the summer :eek:
