I see once again that you are running more ad's on prunne for ryanair...

I wonder did you question at all the fact that 90% of what they claim to be offering is quite honestly "CRAP".

Any new captain entering employment with ryanair at the moment would be flat out getting what they say fo's can expect let alone Euro's 130.000.

100 promotions, yer right unless you are dublin based.

Stable fixed roster.. Hmmmmm new 5-4 roster now on offer to new pilots with more conditions attached than snakes on the Medusa"s head.

No overnight... Wrong.

By all means take there cash, but surely false advertising to entice crews on prunne is not the way to go.

If you look at the ad it says "up to £100k/ Eu130k" Their website also says "Captains in Ryanair earn up to £100k/Eu130k"

Neither of those statements suggest that new entrants will earn the same.

Well what's the point in that? What you are saying doesn't make sense, they might as well say you can earn up to £500,000 because that would be just as false..

Still; even "up to" is crap and untrue tales.

A captain (normal line flying) will bring home a gross pay of 88-90 grand(£)

But it is not news, is it??

And for Pprune to sell it's advertisement space; we live in a free business world. Anyone can buy whatever they can afford.

AND;Pprune as a company has to survive, subject to getting mony from the highest bidder.

And I don't hear anyone complaining about Storm/Astreus/Easy/Anyotheroperator.

I see it as being the same as if Virgin Atlantic came with an add saying:

"come work for us, an earn up to 100.000 GBP a year, basic sallary"

Now they would never do that, because it takes 10 years before you are on that sallary - as captain.
They would rather promise the start sallary and then tell how long it will take to advance to the good money (ok may be a bad example as Virgin is paying well to their crew in these times, but it is just meant as an example).

Unfortunately, company's like Ryanair don't give a **** about anyone or anything, including there own employees, so why bother if they are lying a bit - But what is the news in that. :(

I hope PPRUNE is letting them pay big money for fake commercials, and not sponsoring it for free.

What do you expect from the company that advertised flights to "London Prestwick" airport?

I would suggest that Ryanair has been known to treat the literal truth with a fair degree of disrespect for many years now.

But times they are a'changin... I hope...
 

Things are changing though, and the guys in the White House ARE really feeling the pressure now...

-Even cadets (250hrs tot) get their TR for free from FR now...

-Most people now get at least basic pay from the second they sign a contract...

-New joiners can force/negotiate better T&C than the standard contract gives...

Makes me sorry I joined in 2 years ago, missing out on everything they promised...

Since when has £100k equated to Eu130k or are they talking about the Irish Pound that is impossible for anyone to earn for some past 5 years?

Very misleading advertising, Eu130k, at today's rate, equates to GBP90,666.28 so might one expect to earn Eu130k or £100k, the two are not the same, indeed far from it!

is it true about low hour cadets getting your type rating paid for?

£90k, £100k, who the hell cares!!! They could offer £250k and I still wouldn't be tempted to work for that shower of sh1te.

A uk based captain gets a basic of about £52k. European bases 52K Euros. All aprox of course as everyone gets slightly different.

I thought european base was: basic 66.000Euros ???

However I don´t know how much it is NOW for the 1st year

Despite all the slanging off Ryanair receive I am in a position whereas I am aware who is looking for alternative employment and who is not.

The only applications that, in the main, seem to be received from FR pilots are those that seem to being sold down the river through the command upgrade re-contracting. It seems the majority, if not all, of FR's current commanders are content with a 5 on/5 off, indeed 5 on/4 off lifestyle and, by industry standards, a pretty good salary

Most people work a 5 day week, these guys work a 3-4 day week, I could do with that but not the contempt of being treated as some, if not all, of them are but at the end of the day we either go for a job that we're happy with or a job that pays the most money and we grin'n'bear it.

I hasten to add that prostitutes go for the latter, they smile whilst they're working and complain they're sore afterwards :))

no offence......but where on earth are you talking about? :confused:

5 on/5 off roster is for contract pilots with no assigned base. Permanent pilots in RYR have a 5 on/3 off roster at the moment. The salary they get is an illusion. It might appear good initially, but don't be mislead by this since they have second to none benefits and pay everything out of this salary. Contractors even pay for their recurrency training. And people in all ranks leave RYR for all sorts of airlines.

I've work for RYR for several years and I can tell you that advertisement is totally misleading .
All the info regarding stable roster , salary and million pounds in shares is simply untrue . I would recommend you to think twice before applying for this job . Read all you can find here about RYR and GOOD LUCK! :)

I 've just said that advertisement is misleading . I have not said that RYR is bad or good or whatever else . I just want to help people to get real information about RYR . :ok: :ok: :ok: Mind your own business .

there seems to be a lot of confusion as to what the basic salary is and that is just the way that ryanair want it,, but believe me you'll not get anywhere near 130 euro's.
I presented this question to head of recruitment yesterday to see what his responce would be...
"so D\@#$% just how do i get from my current base salary to EUROS 130.000 in 3 to 5 years."
The look i got back was of a man with no idea and in fact he waited for me to answer it my self with a few suggestion, none of which could be consided realistic, ie tr5, base captain, etc.
I then asked him why my base salary was 5 g less than quited at my employment interview, he said that the person who interviewed me was no longer with the company so he could not comment on what he said,,,, so i guess he lied to me then, he responded,,, yes well it's seems he told a lot of people at lot of this that ryanair would never deliver, but he was under a lot of pressure at the time to hire crew.
