Anyone work for Thomson Fly

Anybody work for Thomson Fly ? Are they good to work for? Any idea what the hours, number of flights per week would be out of CWL for example.

Like it LJ. You've been a member since 2001 and had what...5 posts. Nice one :ok: . and if they're as good as this one mate i think you need to go find some friends.

Hi

I work for them and am currently out in germany doing my line training with Hapag Lloyd.
As for Thomson they are great (so far) but then again I cant really compare them to anyone else, first commercial job.
The attitude of those in Management, senior Captains, the rest of the captains, F/O's, S/O's and the cabin is very friendly.
Cant say what flights they do out of CWL but look them up and see what they do, am looking forward to a very busy summer.
Hope it helps a little bit.

Good luck

I must say that I am inclined to agree with LJ543. Typing the word Thomsonfly into the search box at the top of the page produces 23 threads where this company is mentioned. Might have been nice if GBY-AP had tried this first - girl or boy.

If everyone used the 'search' function, then there would be no new threads created.

Maybe not, but there is nothing to stop people adding to old threads and by doing so you keep all the information in one thread rather than spread out over the 23 mentioned below (which mainly consist of people asking a similar question to this one and getting exactly the same reply as in the other 23).

Anyway, in answer to the original question, still better than anywhere else I'd say.

Overall Thomsonfly is a career choice. It is not a low fare airline despite what the 737 fleet started out as. Nor does it have a lifestyle a la Easyjet. You will not be flying out of base all the time, so there is some hotelling involved.

You may be able to request to do this later in the summer, or indeed fly out of base if you so wish, with the new rostering system under development. The more seniority you have the better your chances of you preferences for you roster choices being accepted.

Choice of fleets does not really matter these days to lifestyle as from this summer the route network on shorthaul will be similar on the 737 and 757.

Think Greece Egypt, Turkey Canaries etc more than Paris, Amsterdam the tide is turning back to traditional charter routes on the 737.
Obviously captaincy much quicker on 737 than 75/67. If a low time FO think 4 years to get to the minimum hours, and then be well above average as well!

But do remember it is a career airline, even if it takes 14 years as it used to, well worth the wait IMHO.

However basic pay not great, the package overall is good. It could be better but where couldn't??

Not many people leave that must say something..
