Aeroflot's Expatriot Hiring Policies

Perhaps a little obscure?... but this one should test the lengths to which PPRUNE extends!

I would like some first or close hand information regarding the hiring policies of Aeroflot-"The Russian Airline". Specifically, are they hiring expat's with ICAO ATPL's, what are the language, Visa requirements? I have great interest in moving to a Russki base if available to foreign pilots.

They do conform to the ICAO with the hope of eventually playing a larger role in the EU, but are they hiring?

As far as any Russian airlines goes, Aeroflot included, you've got to be a Russian citizen to qualify for the seat at the front. If you are able to become one then you'll have to obtain a Russian airline pilot licence. How to get around getting that one I wouldn't know. Mine was issued at the flying college. Try to get in touch with the Russian Aviation Administration if you are still keen. Hope that answers at least some of your questions. Good luck.

All exams are in russian and therefore you need to have a command of the russain language. But best to speak to them and explain the situation and perhaps they can offer some help.

Thanks Lookavi and Mr W,

I will gradually improve my "command" of Russian Language, if you can call it that at this stage, but for the time being I am engaged to a Russian National and am interested in doing all I can to be able to apply within the next 2-5 years. I will run with those leads you have given me and would sincerely appreciate any extra help you can lend me.

Cheers:ok:
