What to Wear

I am sure I am not the only military guy that needs to know this, but I will sacrifice the pride and ask anyway. What should a guy wear to his first Interview with a major airline? I have heard dark suit with white shirt. As a guys whose suits have been supplied for 20 years, I just want to be sure before I shop.

Cheers

There's a few threads on this. The general consensus is that you can't go wrong with a panda outfit.:ok:

Most airlines, especially the ones with HR reps at the interview, like it if you turn up naked. For best results don't let 'em know you know that's what they like. Just get there early and be waiting in the chair for them. ;)
The original suggestion is fine as a distant second option. Just get a comedy tie ('Eat My Shorts' Bart Simpson type thing) to go with it to show you're not all serious.

that's what you get...

very funny Curious! Thats's what they get, hey...

Greatest concern is to ensure that when your suited and booted you do not make them look untidy. Very best of luck.

I second the comedy tie approach - nothing too garish though, mine has daffy duck flying a biplane I think. So far since leaving the RAF 10 years ago it has got me..
1 helicopter job
1 Turboprop job
1 Boeing job
1 helicopter job
1 Boeing job offer
It works for me :ok:

The most important it that your clothes related to your personnality.
Otherwise, some people will noticed it, some won't be able to state the exact reason but all will feel you look weird, and that's a no-go.

In doubt, go for classic. If really in doubt, go for pilot 'uniform', dark blue pants, white shirt, blue tie, dark shoes.

Wear something comfortable, if you are not at ease, they will ask themselves why ('Is it because he is lying about his experience' will come to their mind more easily than 'he should have choosen shoes one size bigger'....).

Best of luck
