Jade Interview/any tips

Gents;

I have been invaited to an interview with jade,is any one knows what is DLR- interview.
I have to pay my ticket airfare so I want to be sure what are they looking for?.
Thanks and happy xmas to all.

If you have to pay your own airfare - I wouldn't go it smacks of being cheap-scate (they would pay if they really wanted you there). If your that desperate, go for Ryan it only costs £50 as a opposed to the £600+ it would cost you to go to the Jade interview. Good Luck.

I think if all he has to do is pay to get himself to the interview location, that is hardly 'cheap-scate'. Many airlines expect you to pay to get yourself to their interview.

Now paying for the assessment and type rating and uniform and car-park pass and coffee and, oh I could go on.........

Hi Xalapa,
Are you B747-400 type rated?

good luck.

Sorry don't know much about them.. is it like the Austrian airline selection programme recently advertised (in conjunction with Lufthansa selection process)?

If you're paying for the fares you can't complain, even if you are paying to be assessed it is a sad state of affairs but if you take the moral stance someone else will just take your place. If you can afford it then go, great experience at the very least even if the 'selection fee' (if that is what your paying for:confused: ) is a rip-off.

Good luck with it if you decide to go

If you're talking about *the* DLR test then it is the most documented pilots test in the world - and the most demanding. Is it in HAM or FRA or any other LH base? May-be Jade is buying a reduced one but basically it's most probably the same:

Maths, verbal reasoning, logical thinking, 3D puzzles, psycho-motoric tests. Hmm, English might as well asked ;-)

There are tons of books about the original DLR test. Have a look in Amazon. Most of them are in German.

I know from my airline and a few others about a dozen current B747 guys trying to get this jobs. For many getting to interview is not an issue.,..........

Hi AAIguy, just nosy what airline is AAI again and why are they all interested in leaving? Heared that Jade is getting 744ERF in July Nr1 and the other five in the coming years. The ops is not yet up and running and they do not even have a contract on paper yet. All is still in the process of coming together, they are starting from scratch and seems to be a lot of work involved getting an airline up and running in china.
happy landings

Interview in FRA

Sim on B737

Not rated on the 400.

Myself and others have seen the contract terms, several (I wont say many yet) have turned it down due no housing allowance in the Far East! That will come from your own pocket. Which means once you relocate the family find schooling for the ankle biters there wont be that much left over for play.

There will always be those that will take the job, just to have multi time zone advance aging and say that they fly the whale!:yuk:

You don't have to move all the way to the far East to fly the 744F for subsistence wages.

Air Atlanta Icelandic.

We have let go some -400 guys as an aircraft has gone for conversion to a freighter. There are a number of -400 crew on the street.

Jade Interview

From my point of view, 747-400 pilots are going to have it better and better in the near future. As soon as BA goes to age 60, the majority supplier to the contract market, things are going to get interesting. As supply goes down, contracts get better and better. With all the 74 start-ups and orders for expansion in Asia I'm looking forward to the next 5 years! Therefore, I wouldn't pay anything for an interview. A type rating + 500 hrs will be gold!
