Non-European pilots flying in Europe. Is it hard to take a JAA license ?
I heard that you have one year to do all JAA tests and get the license , even if you are already flying for some EU airline.
Does anyone know anything about it ?

well, it depends...

if you have no experience and you wanna take all JAA licences to become airline pilot (PPL, fATPL, CPL, IR...) you'll need AT LEAST 14-15 months...
if you have some licences and need to convert them, you should contact an FTO...

dunno the difficulty (oh well not yet)... ;)

It's not difficult, it's the volume of stuff you'll need to memorize...pretty useless for the most part. I did it in 6 months, coming from Canada and working full time, distance learning scheme, and got passes on first attempt for all 14 subjects. You do need to work hard though, and my advice: don't go for the cheap distance learning organzations. It's all about the question databases they have and fact is: organizations such as Bristol GS and Oxford will make sure you get all the knowledge you need to pass on first attemp. One more thing, go for UK schools.
