There was a thread recently which looked a bit worrying which stated alledgedly that third pilots where carried on long haul trips, type rated but they had not completed line training if my memory serves me right. These Pilots operated to the Caribbean then deadheaded straight back.. Safety first...

Bad T&C's, no agreements, low pay for skippers, no flight duty allowance, no per diems, no pension scheme, unstable roster, etc.

WOW. That doesn't sound too fun. The destinations look nice, like Rio, but with low pay it might not be that fun. Does anyone know where they get most of their recruits? Why would somebody go work for them? I guess the A330 is a nice plane and all, but is it worth it? Maybe it would lead to heavy time and then Iberia would look at them?

What are the best airlines to fly for in order in Spain? (Iberia, Spanair, Air Europa, Iberworld, Air madrid, Air Comet, Air Nostrum, Air Pullmantair, etc?)

like that!!!!! Just look at the prices ]

They are only 6 girls in the cabin .Really bad service. Had one flight to Lima with them.. But also the last one!!!!

My company had 2 people on a flight with Airmadrid, but due eng. failure they had to land in Manaus in the middel of the jungle..

Is that normal with eng. failure on modern airplanes??
And what happend in this case?

Iberia: Good conditions, stable company
Air Europa: The best pilot agreement of all, fun to fly for, expansion plans, great fleet...

Let me guess, you work for Air Europa? Do you fly the 767-300? Have you been to Quito or do you mostly do Havana and Punta Cana? Where will the A340's be flying to? Who will move from the 767 to the A340? Is there better pay or better rosters on the new plane? Why do you enjoy that airline so much? Can you give me an example of one of your rosters in one month? - need 500 hrs on 330 or 340 or just type rating?

Not only spanish fly for Air Madrid. There's a couple of portuguese flying on the A330 and A310.
Check Six Krueger...

Also believe that a lot of the bus drivers were from the Portuguese carrier Airluxor with the 330 rating.

Air Madrid is in the midst of major growing pains due to rapid positive expansion...certainly subject to fuel costs...have just announced a feeder system using 320 aircraft throughout key european cities to madrid for the S and C America destinations using 310, 330 and 340 s... all this backed by its own tour operator, AladaTours, which is slowly gaining market share alongside Globalia and Marsans etc.
Pilots are very well treated, with several belgians, french and portugese airbus veterans as TRI and TRE´s. The rest are all spaniards, some ab initios, the rest highly experienced ex captains from hola, air nostrum and air plus or aerbal...
Not surprisingly, the guys calling the shots are pro local recruitment, so unless you speak fluent spanish and have lots of airbus knowledge to share and positive attitude, dont bother applying.
I fly the 330 at AM and I am very very content so far...
