CWL B737e Captains £100K F/O's £50K 4-on-4-off
This ad is in today's Flight International! Can this really be true?

Can you translate the title? Which company flying a 737? Any more specifics? Cheers

The figures quoted in the advert are based on 850 hrs pa which I reckon is unrealistic for a purely charter outfit, especially with a 4 on 4 off roster pattern. My lot who are particularly canny with rostering struggle to get more than 650 or so hours out of their pilot's on average and believe me it's not for want of trying. Also the advert doesn't specify whether this is the salary on offer or the value of the package.

From the crews point of view 4 On / 4 Off would seem to be optimum.
Presumably this outfit recognises a problem in recruiting experienced crews for a Cardiff operation. The only way they might attract some crews for a new charter operation is by offering substantially above the market. Two big questions: First, is the 4 On / 4 Off be specified in the contract? If not then it may well just be a recruiting play. It would be most unlike a charter airline to let crews go home for four days in peak season if it meant cancelling a flight . . . Second. The salaries quotes re £100,000 for a Captain and £50,000 for a First Officer. Er, yes. Does this represent the whole package or is it a flat rate and you sort allowances, LOL and pension out yourself? |
Novel idea send a cv and find out
