Cathay Pay Rates

Can anyone direct me to a site showing cathay pilot pay rates? captain and f/o, s/o.

If not, could you post them here? Thank you.

Lou Scannon 22nd Jan 2005 16:46

...about 50% of what they claim when you meet them in a bar!

Cpt. Underpants 22nd Jan 2005 17:11

What pay scale do you want?

A scale HKG
B scale HKG
VETA HKG
Australia
New Zealand
Canada
USAB
CDG, FRA, AMS or LHR
Freighter Europe
Freighter USA
Freighter Canada
Freighter Australia

or one of the others - there are many permutations - I forget how many we have..?

Chances are, Lou, that if you meet a CX driver in a bar, he...

a. Has disposable income, which means that...
b. He is probably an A scaler, and
c. When you check his salary against CXF or CX New Joiner, there will be a 50% difference! Very astute observation, young fella.

Cpt. Underpants:

Freighter Europe, would be great.
pax based in CDG, FRA, AMS or LHR are the same pay as pax B scale in HKG but without housing and school or they are a diferent scale?????

thanks

seriously,
anyone know or can PM me on pay scales in Canada for both freighter and pax ( cpt and FO)

thank you

Turbo Beaver 22nd Jan 2005 22:44

Seems to me NR is trying some propaganda here against CX pilots by publishing payscales. Seems stuff like this always makes it way on here when decisions have to be made. Over paid, under worked pilots. Can’t wait until Airbus makes a pilotless aircraft. Finally get rid of those damn pilots. If you are looking for pay scales, email cathay pacific at their website www.cathaypacific.com, care of the personal department.

Rod Eddington said, “it was important to try and win such battles in the media”.

I'm not sure I would like to inundate a potential employer with requests about money before I've even turned in an application.

In the same token, I may not want to take the time and effort to apply to a company whose renumeration may not be to my liking.

A PM would suffice, if someone doesn't want to post it here. I'm just trying to decide, if I should be offered employment with CX, whether the compensation would be to the standards I would wish for a long-term career position. The only way to do that is to find out what the compensation package is and analyze it.

Along those same lines, I'm trying to find out what the difference is in pay and quality of life between the freighters in the U.S. and pax HK, should I spend several years state-side, then want to fly passengers again someday.

Can someone possibly shed a little more light on the subject?

Thanks,

Turbo beaver Those pay scales don't seem particularly extravagant....maybe pilots should publicise just how badly paid they are?
