Any pilots commuting from southern Spain to UK/Ireland

Good morning,
This post may very well deserve to be in a travel forum rather than here haha! , so please excuse me. However I just wanted to get some advice if there is any fellow pilots who are currently commuting from Southern Spain to UK or Ireland. Just to enable me to see how realistic this option would be for myself.
I have been doing some research to see how feasible this would be , and just wanted to see how easy other pilots find it , preferably commuting out of Malaga airport. Realistic areas to live in proximity to Malaga airport etc. Feel free to drop me a PM , any advice greatly appreciated.

***Due to the low activity in the Spanish Forum I posted here***

Kind Regards and safe flying ,
SAR

I know several that do it...some fly direct to the uk, though sometimes they have to transit through Madrid. I guess it depends who you work for and have travel concessions with.

Agree with the travel concession comments. Depending on where you are travelling to, but getting seats back to the UK during peak summer months is both tricky (due to availability) and pricey.

Thanks so much for the reply , greatly appreciated. I would have a jump seat worst case scenario so it wouldn't be costing me financially at all. Do you know the ares that your colleges are living around? I don't mind the flight however having to drive for a couple of hrs also , then it might loose its appeal.

Again many thanks for the information.

Generally West of Malaga. Mijas, Estepona, Sotogrande.Take your pick. The whole coast is very nice along there. Depends if you want crowds or not.

Have a good look at the train line that connects Malaga Airport and parts of the Costa. It’s a fantastic line albeit if it was extended further west it would be even better.

However, the beauty is you wouldn’t need a car for going back and forth to the airport before and after work.

There is quite a number of people who commute from AGP to the UK for work.

Depends what airline you work for and where you want to commute to.
One particular Irish lot serves many UK destinations and Irish ones as well, so depends on what you call home up North.
If you work for them and commute to/from work you can jumpiest in uniform free of charge, just show up on time and report law procedures to ground staff.

Many larger UK airports are served daily by multiple services, thus making commuting simple.
It is a way of living many in the company do, due to getting a base there assigned and not permanently residing local to their work place.

Thanks very much to everyone who has replied , your advice and information has been brilliant. My base is Dublin and I have availability of jump seats back and forth all year. I guess the next step is take a trip down again and gain more insight into possible areas and also public transport routes. I see there is a bus service also going as far as Marbella on a regular basis too which is great and also the train network to the west , albeit not as far west as it could , as mentioned above.
