Easyjet DEC assessment preparation

Hi everybody,

Any recommendation for a good preparation for the DEC EZ assessment? Lots of websites out there offering prep packages, some feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Gen up on the company and it’s core values, interview is non-technical for DEC. Sim I’m not so sure about as I believe it’s now done on the bus for everyone including non-TR. A search on here should bring up plenty of past info

There aren’t any for DEC. A later stage is a physiological questionnaire

For DEC there is only a huge questionnaire (about 300 questions) asking you questions about your personality and whether you strongly agree through to strongly disagree with the statements. You can't 'prepare' for that just go and do it, that's kind of the point. Don't think too hard about what they want you to say, as there's so many questions you'll end up sounding inconsistent trying to remember what you've put for earlier similar questions. This is followed by a Skype interview with a psychologist. I would recommend doing both of these before your assessment day, as it's good to get feedback etc .

They are running assessments at the moment so hopefully there will be some movement soon. I believe they are running courses up until June at least.

I’m on April course as a NTR Captain. I passed in early September just before Monarch went bust. I know there’s a May course and those on it will already know as it’s less than 3 months away. Not sure about a June course, but I do know a few people in the pool who passed in October with no date yet. I wouldn’t worry though - getting into the pool is what’s important, I’m pretty sure everyone in the pool will get called for a start.

Has anyone who’s recently done the NTR DEC assessment had the sim on the same day, particularly at LGW? Is it on the ‘bus now?

I was surprised to receive an invite yesterday, being as the rumour was they were busy enough processing all the ex Monarch, & Air Berlin folk plus hold pool guys/girls.

Cheers!

Congrats!

To answer your question. When I did my assessment back in Sept it was at LGW and yes sim is on the same day. It was on the A320 down in Burgess Hill, with an Easy FO acting as PM. It’s a long day I must admit but very enjoyable at the same time.

I attempted and failed the process a year prior having gone through the process at LTN. You had to pass day 1 in LTN to be invited for a sim which would be the next day if you could do it then. That sim assessment was in CAE LGW and they used a 737.

Not sure any of the above is set in stone, but the info pack they provide you will tell you everything. Of course if you have any questions they’re extremely friendly when you call.

Remember to enjoy it.

Hi - you 'need' to wait as long as they take to let you know. There isn't a quicker way of getting an answer. It took me a week to hear, but sometimes it takes 3. I'd probably give them a nudge if it was 3 weeks and no they don't give feedback if you haven't been successful.

Best of luck.

For a Captain position where? We’ve been told numerous times there’s no need for DEC for FY20? With a mate of mine dropping out the pool in June and another probably about to having been in the holding pool for over a year I’m wondering how it is there’s people still going through a DEC process.

What Base?

Sim wise the most important thing is the CRM. Include your FO in decisions and generate enough options and vocalise what if scenarios
