Hi Ryanairrecruitment,

I applied for the cadet program at Ryanair on June 4th, but still haven't received any email from Ryanair, other than 'your application is under review'. Is this normal?

Hi,

Is it possible to be a contracted Captain for a certain period of the year ? For example working 6-7 months of the year over the summer ? With the rest off ?
(I am ex Ryanair still on the 737) and want to commute from Australia.

Thanks,

Not officially. BUT - if you ask for one of the big bases(e.g. BGY, STN, DUB, ect.) you might ask for unpaid leave(or part time) for the period of european winter(starts in November till end of march, did not look very deep into that memo as it is financially unattractive(for me) - only 50%(or none) pay plus social contributions during that time). But maybe a good way for you handling living in down under and doing some winter(yours) flying here in Europe.

Of course, typically RYR, nothing secure, nothing granted, first come, first serve(no seniority) mentality. If you would get same deal a year later, nobody knows. I assume as soon as economy will start off again a new exodus at RYR will start and they will have, as usual, trouble crewing their rides. Then ciao ciao winter part time or unpaid leave.

On smaller(2-4 airframes) bases normally you do not get that deal anyway, even not now. Crewfactor JUST right to have normal ops running without calling in out of base guys. All in all a gamble for you I think. But as you are already rated you could leave them anytime, so maybe worth to give it a short. Maybe make it clear during the interview that you WANT unpaid leave for winter, might be possible to negotiate a contract IF they are in need of DEC's again. Right now DEC recruitment is suspended, most likely a first for RYR in a long while.

incorrect, we had a big drive for 75% contracts in PMI, IBZ, ETC and had a big up take, crew fly Feb - Nov with months in between off, however you do correctly state that DEC recruitment is now on hold as we have hired a lot of Captains over the last 12 months.

Ryanair Sun

Ryanair Sun is hiring NTR first officers. Does anyone know the terms?
How much is the salary?
How much you pay each year for the bond?
Taxes in Poland?

its a zero hour contract, flying as a contractor. The salary will depend on how much you fly. Have leave, no pay. Sick, no pay. Retire, no pension. You even need to take out buisness insurance to cover any accidents...!!!

They are advocating you pay very little taxes this way, just like they did years ago with brookfield which caused a few people some issues with the authorities....history repeating itself...

do not forgot to factor in the costs of a new front door should the taxman kick your door in at 5am to reclaim what is owed!

Thanks for your response. I don't know what happened in the past but now in their site they said "Local Polish Direct service Contracts"

Local service contracts means you are a zero hour contractor working for wawsaw aviation, that contracts you to ryr sun.

Its not a contract with ryanair sun directly.

Nice memo today from company, standard threatening memo stating bases closures and down sizing this winter and possibly summer....aparently this time because there are too many pilots and not enough max’s...heaven forbid they will only make a 1 billion profit this year.

you condone this behaviour? Do you not find it a dated approach to staff relations?

Anyway, PB has just quit/sacked/pushed - he clearly does not like it!

You are like a broken record.

it’s because of your attitude and of the spoiled brats like you that the industry is in the state it is.
You just dont’t blindly accept what they throw at you, but you fight to maintain or improve what you have, otherwise there will be nothing but crappy jobs in the future, with employers treating pilots with contemp, like Ryanair, and reducing terms and conditions as they wish.

very true.

A capt basic in ryr is still less than it was 18 years ago...in fact it is 1k less than an FO’s basic in the year 2000!

and some of the brain washed still dont think they are on a continual mission to drag down terms

ryr wants europe to consolidate. Less choice for punters = higher fares. Ironic that they always complained about people have monopolies....

when consolidation happens, then you will see what they are capable of doing to salaries...

PB going!

Oh Dear!
A good chap in my book!
I predicted the future for him some time ago.
He had a good laugh.
I was right. He was wrong.
We did get the Union in!
Anyway.
Without PB it is going to be a tough few years Ladys and Gentlemen.
I for one would fasten the Seatbelt , stow the trolleys and brace for severe turbulence.
Good luck to All.
Regards
Cpt B
