"Smooth Airperator"...if that was my user name, I'd change it. No offence intended, just saying.

I think the next thing to happen is as well as a number of senior figures getting the boot which is no secret, Will be closure and sale of the LTN engineering base.

Makes little sense to have large under utilised state of the art facility at BHX and a much less viable facility so close at LTN

However im sure selling the group off is Greybulls top priority , I think the sell by date is well past from their point of view

A sale to a company such as HNA would i think the best outcome , However last i heard they had a good look at the books and said thanks but no thanks ....

I think the more important issue is have Monarch found the missing 35m to keep them viable through the Winter?

I can't recall seeing any such announcement.

As we enter into the Autumn and Winter, any profits that have been made will be quickly eroded.

None here. Seems odd seeing as the advert states the next assessment dates are the 6th/7th

I went in the hanger at Birmingham to collect an airframe last summer, it was like an operating theatre. Absolutely spotless. A great facility.

An 'inside' mate mentioned the NTR placements would likely go to 737 guys to facilitate the (potential) transition to the MAX in 18

There are less people leaving MON than expected. I can't speak for cabin crew but this is true of pilots. How this affects recruitment I don't know!

Baggage technician Brigantee always pops up to have a dig at MON! I wonder who he/she works for!!??

I dont really think anything in my post could be construed as "having a dig" at Mon , However lets see how things pan out , I would put money on LTN Engineering base closing in the near future , And im also sure greybull never saw the Monarch group as long term investment .

I think plenty are leaving or are in the process of doing so, as long as BA keep recruiting MON will keep losing. So I think it's good news for people wanting a job with Mon.

Brigantee, with all due respect, could you please keep off the terms and conditions thread? If you want to spread idle gossip about what you believe to be the log term future of many of our jobs, then go and spout off elsewhere. Like the pub or something. Please.

Rumours of the company for sale do persist, and always will with greybull. Maybe it will happen - maybe it won't - we shall find out soon enough. With DB involved, there's almost certainly something moving behind the scenes. If it does happen, then hopefully it will be to the best option for the company. As I said, we shall see though, Monarch thrives on a good rumour!

What I would say is that compared to where I was before, I really like it here. Some of the earlier are particularly brutal (early Larnaca anyone??) but against all that, there's a really good mix of long and shorter routes. And you're home pretty much every night (barring an occasional trip to somewhere for a couple of nights).

Sadly Brigantee couldn't give a monkeys - he likes the sound of his own opinion too much!

So who do you work for Brigantee? Be brave and tell us so we can put your opinions in perspective! My bet is you won't because you like hiding behind anonymity and spouting forth!

All ive stated is i dont think greybull are in it for the long game and the LTN engineering base will be next to go when seabury complete their next round of reviews ,They have a huge new top class facilty at BHX which is under utilised and a far inferior base down the road at LTN which is also under utilised ,The recent sale of the Manchester base was as a result of a review seabury carried out , It would make perfect sense to concentate the base maintence work in one large modern facilty

The best thing that could happen is someone such as HNA buys the group that has the huge financial clout to fund it correctly, they currently own a number of airlines and engineering MOE ,s including i think im right in stating SR technics , So monarch with its world wide renowned engineering division that has very close ties with boeing through the goldcare programme could fit in nicely

BHX hangar may be short of a few engineers soon as those who moved down from MAN have been offered jobs with JET 2 in MAN for much more money.

Brigantee

That's a fair assessment, however only GB and the passing of time will tell what transpires! I nearly always have a good day out with my MON colleagues - long may that continue!
