Worth mentioning that the Crowne Plaza is offsite and will require a bus/taxi to get to the crew room increasing the cost. Internet is included though as I recall.
I'd also question the wisdom in posting these prices/rates on a public forum. Private message would have sufficed.

How does commuting work at easyJet? Do many pilots do it?
I live in CPH and have applied to easyJet, just curious if it would be doable to either LGW or another base like AMS or BER?

Hi there guys.
I´m thinking about applying for an easy f/o position and I have a doubt about the entry level. You get an SO, FO or SFO position according with your factored hours only or hours and time on the company apply for that matter?. Anyone can help?
P.S.: I´m rated on the bus.

Forget commuting on small bases with FRV (no fix pattern).
The company does also have strict commuting rules and monitors it when it does affect fatigue concerns.

Speaking as someone who used to commute with easyJet, I wouldn't worry about the Flexi roster's impact on commuting, it's a non issue. Yes you won't be able to predict your roster but the way that staff travel works these days is never going to leave you able to book commuting flights far in advance anyway. As seats are released you'll be able to book your tickets closer to the time and by that time you'll know your roster. I had no problems with FRV as regards the commute, in many ways I actually thought it was better as you tended to have a longer (ie five day plus) block of days off each month, mixed in with your normal three day/two day blocks.
(Bear in mind my experience is limited to Gatwick though).

RexBanner - I'm glad commuting worked for you. Your experience is very different to mine. Can I ask how it worked when you did 5 on 2 off 5 on 2 off 4 on 3 off (finishing on a late after the last flight home has left and starting back on a 0600 report back on day one).
Manta time I'd get just one clear day at home. Then it's back to work for 5 four sectors on the bounce, several of which were on minimum rest. At one point I was unable to get home for 3.5 weeks as it simply wasn't worth it coming home.
I did have a few blocks of four days off but this was very much the exception.
FRV commuting is not a life. It certainly isn't sustainable.

Ouch, I never had any of those types of rosters. My days off were mostly either 3/4 days. Had the very occasional 2 day block of days off but looking back at my rosters the days before always finished on an early allowing me to get back home in the evening. Four day blocks were certainly not the exception for me and they'd occasionally randomly roster me a five day+ block of days off.
For example In July last year I GDO'd two days and they wrapped another five around them giving me seven, in the middle of summer! It's amazing that experiences can be so different. I think it was possibly as a result of being a contractor on the top rate that I worked less than the SO's who didn't get any sector pay.
If it had carried on like that I wouldn't have left, as it was almost a cushy number (or as close to one as you will get nowadays). However I knew as soon as I went permanent that particular set of circumstances would have gone out the window.

Did 4 years FRV, never got a block of 5 off in a row.
4 only when I was lucky enough to book GDOs.(max 6 times/year)
Mostly 3 or 2 days off, occasionally a single one.
Commuting was difficult, that said, even on 5/4-5/3 commuting isn't easy and the company doesn't like it either.

Which base out of interest, Tontito? I was Parc in Gatwick and I still have copies of all my old rosters for tax purposes.
Out of 11 non training months I had nine days off in succession once, seven days off once, six once, five days off 6 times (so roughly half of those months). Four days off in five (just under half). This was in addition to my normal day off blocks which were usually either 3/4.
So the total days off for me in the 11 full months outside of conversion training were 164 plus 24 days leave which were contractual but didn't give entitlement to wraps. I had 188 days off in 11 months. This was Parc contract in Gatwick and this happened, I have the evidence to prove it. Now I will gladly accept that it's not a particularly realistic picture to make an ongoing decision on but I just wanted to share with you my experience as I'm surprised it is so radically different to what you are saying.
