Sorry should have clarified in my original post, above a certain number of block hours you get paid more, supposed to compensate for working hard but to be getting it in winter is disappointing.

Hi guys. I passed the whole selection for FO and I'm waiting to be contacted by Flybe to start the course. Can anyone tell me how long Flybe take to call you up ? For me its already been almost 2 months without hearing from them.

Well, I attended the selection and didn't even make the interview stage. I guess I'm not Flybe material. I only wish there were some feedback rather than wait a year and try again. I'm 53 and can't wait that long.
I feel rather like an older lady who's made herself up to look younger, been knocked back and ends up feeling ashamed for trying. Who am I kidding?

Sorry it didn't work out BB, I guess that was the CTC selection. The company has taken some of the selection back in house as they have had problems with it previously.

You're probably not going to appreciate my reply, but what you ask is precisely the reason we took the DEC command selection process back "in house". If everyone learns the interview questions parrot fashion and can fly the profile with their eyes shut, then what are we really getting?
In the past, people got job offers without being adequately probed but when they started their Sim training, we'd find out "in a heartbeat" that actually they weren't as good as they'd have had us believe. What would then ensue was an embarrassing episode of hand wringing, bull$hit excuses, shifting blame onto others, failing LST's, extra training, poor base training, possible demotion to FO or ultimately termination.
If you're good enough to have been picked out of a bunch of applicants for an interview, then one would hope that given a bit of homework by yourself and paying attention to the brief they give you, then, if you've got a modicum of common sense and can fly to a standard commensurate with your supposed experience, then you shouldn't have a problem.
Ultimately we want to find out about you and see if you can fly so that, putting it bluntly, we don't waste our time. I would humbly suggest that now it's all been brought back "in house", that finding out what questions Fred Bloggs was asked isn't really going to help you as the interviewers are quite good at sifting bull$hit. And the profile is such that the instructors that do it can actually tell whether or not the person can fly; they need to as we've been stung too many times. But quite honestly if you CAN actually fly, it's really not that hard. Just be yourself, be honest and fly accurately. Best of luck.

I couldn't help but notice that you have already been offered a job with Air Baltic (Air Baltic information forum). You also have an assessment with Flybe. I am really pleased for you (I am not being sarcastic, I mean it).
The only thing I would like to say to you is work your way through, without boasting so much. If you are a Commander, I am sure you are well capable of succeeding in your interview. There are many pilots around, who cannot afford to fund a type rating, and they are really struggling to get a single interview.

And the sim assessment is made on the e-jet ! Easy plane to fly ! Been one of the E-jet contractor took by flybe 2 years ago and on the dash 8 now full contract, if you fly a dash regularly, the e-jet will be soooo comfy and no catch !

Secondly, BusterHot, I completely agree with you about the way you and flybe think regarding the selection process. It is quite comprehensible you to want the best pilots and trainable ones. I hope to be one of them. I am doing my best to be prepared for technical questions since I finished my aeronautical studies long time ago....

Three aircraft that are owned by Flybe (not leased) are currently available for primarily for sale, although lease options available.
Effected aircraft are; G-JEDU, G-JEDV and G-JEDW - these are the aircraft Flybe purchased in 2014 at the end of their leases.
Must be downsizing the fleet a fair amount, with two Embraer's being leased to Stobart Air this summer, too.
