Kirks Gusset, were you the lucky Irishman chosen to appear in the lovely vid
BOB777 is perhaps hopeful rather than delusional. If Turkey is ever admitted to bosom of the EU, maybe all those who become disillusioned with THY would have the opportunity of choosing their home base somewhere other than Turkey and not having their social security contributions flushed down the stand- only pan.

I wonder what has happened to the social security contributions paid by those who quit. How many simits will the TL buy in forty years time.

Morale has been low and everyone has been about to leave for several years now, however, still, the attrition rate has only been a fraction of the number of people who have been recruited and employed.

Locals goto QR for the 777 rating in order to be able to return on LH and save some cash meanwhile. Yubancis have no proper place to go anymore unless working for a loco in Europe with 4000E net as a captain is good enough. China and the sandpit is not for everyone, neither is Istanbul.

The actual numbers leaving is very small, recruitment levels are still high and the sims are full from now until end July so training capacity is also an issue. Maybe some SH FOs may be on the trot but generally there is a level of negative feedback from guys that went to the sand pit, but in fairness I guess they had to see for themselves. The biggest concern I hear voiced is regarding security levels and the safety levels whilst living in Turkey.

And no Playstation I'm not the good looking film star!

Kirk..Type IV..we trust you 100%....you are not pumping...its clear. Well BA does not need any video, EK pays twice the money..FR makes you a Captain in 12 months and do not discriminate a Greek from a Spaniard pays them 7000 euro with an average 12 days off..Qatar guys will never be able to rejoin...Turkish 737 captains going to Pegasus are just a mirage and the 300+ pilots that left in the last 4 years are just imaginary..we trust you 100%..its clear THY is the best place for an expat fairness and honesty rules you are proof of it..

STEXUP having read through all your 7 posts, obviously drawn from your extensive experience aviation I fail to find anything other than criticism of others.
Your facts are wrong and you troll complete nonsense.

Cost of Living Comparison Between Dubai, United Arab Emirates And Istanbul, Turkey

Emirates pay more because they have to. FR will not make you a Captain in 12 months, you need 2 good sims and a winter season to enter the process, minimum 18 months. THY does accept re-join, 71 Pegasus crew left PGS over the past 10 months to THY. And we have over 715 Foreign pilots. How many pilots have retired in the past 12 months and how many have left BA over the same period? I don't give a damn if people join THY or not, but as with anything, go into any job with eyes open and mind open..If guys want to leave, its up to them.
For me I just have over a month left then I retire, but I can assure you there are many waiting to replace me..

Stex is correct...more or less. In good months substantially more.
Regardless the Iranian plan for 500 aircraft in a few years ( 114 Airbus to be ordered by Rouhani as soon as tomorrow) opens a whole nee scenario in the region. I foresee more problems for THY ...

No unpaid leave foreseen for long long time if ever as they are getting short on crews. Salary well above 7000 euro as said, new local contracts starting to happen fixed roster 5/4 hard to beat...based home.

Type IV believe what you want...but that is fact...for many bases in UK and also Europe now. Again..money is not everything and THY 737 gig seems like a real life shortener....for what I hear. You can probably make more money there if you fly 100 hours..but seems like the way you fly it and where to...makes the big difference. Luckily in Turkey seems that the quality of life concept is still pretty basic and you are full of machos ready to do anything for that Mercedes.

Looks like Turkish has fallen below the radar. No one posting since weeks. I heard the bomb in Ankara exploded just a few yards away from the Hotel Turkish uses there. It is becoming clearer everyday that Turkey is not the place to be.Currency extremely weak, salary below standard ( like many other aspects ) on one side and operational and non operational risks and resulting stress becoming excessive. Multiple diversion due to fake bomb threats and scores of Turkish, Saudi and Russian jets flying around with live ammunition just east of the border...

Turkish Airlines Announces 2 New Destinations During the Superbowl: Gotham City and Metropolis - View from the Wing

Bob.. as for the crew hotel being "yards from the bomb" nonsense its 2.3KM away!, Multiple Diversions maybe 1!

http://www.theguardian.com/world/201...mb-threat-note
the aircraft left was from Texas.. not Turkey..

Planes flying around with " live ammunition" is there any other type?

You guys really need to start a new hobby or get some therapy.
