Angel Jobs for not current type rated pilots, last flight NOT within12 month

How many of us are in this situation: Type rated Senior First Officers, more than 1 year since last flight, every minimum requirement fulfilled, jet hours, ATPL, first class medical, etc, but..... Still not getting any job? And if this is your situation like me, what would you do...?

that's the problem in this industry, once you got out, it is difficult to come back.
Take a look at the SFI course, could be another window to reach.

How can you be "Type Rated" and not have flown for 1,5 years? Surely you missed a few proficiency checks and need some hours to re-qualify?

I'd get that sorted first and then try again on the job market.

I understand the type rating once you have it you don't lose it, maybe you could be not current, but this is not the case, last Sept 24th, 2014, I've got my ATPL on an A320 FLT Sim, in GAA, Bahrein, but I insists, It's not because the proficiency checks.... operators ask for recency in position, again, Last flight within 12 month..... This is the subject.

I can sympathise. Australian Friend with 15,000 hours including check captain B737-300 applied for job in Thailand flying a 737-400. The Thai DGCA told him he must produce evidence of his last IPC on a 737-400 simulator. They would not accept the fact that he had his last IPC one month earlier in a 737-300 simulator. Thai DGCA said that is your problem not ours and that without an IPC on the 737-400 there was no job. The fact that the ICAO class rating is B737-300/400/500 meant nothing to Thai/ Maybe he should have offered a bribe?
